Signature updated.
Gonna spend the foreseeable future catching up on this thread. So happy right now, could never imagine an MVP embracing Milwaukee like he has. Thank you Giannis

That 2027 unprotected pick could still be good if Giannis were to decline his player option...
The 2026 pick swap is unprotected as well, and Giannis could opt out in 2025.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

Middleton is they key to the ship. If he’s not the #2 guy and the closer we need he has to go

I get vacation and stuff? I guess it makes sense if Giannis didn't want to be bothered by it, but sheesh giving yourself very limited time to make a decision.
They waited until he came back from Greece to make the formal offer in person. But it's not like everyone wasn't aware it was coming.
Yeah, but it's different when you actually get it in paper...Yeah I know I got the job offer...but I need it in writing or actually see it. It's just different. I still say it's a pretty short window to make such a decision especially given there could've been hold ups in the contract, but this just proves, $$$ and terms were what they were, was always on Giannis.

Yikes. Giannis may be staying but this franchise still has a long way to go.

Re: Giannis SIGNS
So we hope that Jrue will extend in the summer. We will have Giannis, Middleton, Jrue as our big 3 and they are going to be paid max/supermax. The rest of the roster will consist of very cheap guys. I don't want to be pessimistic but I am afraid our big 3 will not be big 3 enough and the rest of the roster will be very pedestrian to lead us to a championship. Anyway this is a day of celebration

Horst has huge nuts to make that move without a commitment from Giannis. Good for him.

Name the teams that would have a better trio than Giannis, Middleton and Jrue.

Harden was on the trade market within weeks of the Jrue trade, so the idea that they had to bid as aggressively as possible for the best lead guard who was available at the moment rings kind of hollow. I don't really want Harden for the price they would pay, but my overall point is that they probably would have had options if they had been a little more patient. I don't know how patient Giannis was willing to be though.
Also, who knows if John Wall will actually bounce back, but he would have required so much less in outgoing assets that I would have strongly considered it had I known it would cost so much to acquire Jrue.
Finally, it's not hard to imagine guys like CP3 or Lowry being available as rentals by mid-season. They would have been capable of helping the Bucks stay in contention this year while waiting for a longer-term solution.
I just don't like over-paying, but the Giannis extension makes it understandable, like when the Clippers traded so much for PG13 to get Kawhi to sign and when the Cavs gave up so much for Love to get Lebron to return.

Reminder that we should've won in 2019 with Bled, worse version of Mids, and Giannis

I mean does he though?? He was most likely going to get fired if Giannis didn't sign. He was playing with house money IMO at that point with the Jrue trade. I put myself in his position and I'd be like "welp, s*** if I don't go all in and make something happen, I'm f***, but at least I have a chance to survive. If I sit and do nothing, I'm definitely f***. If I get fired at least I'm not cleaning the mess up so WTH, let's go all in"
Timinggg just SUCKSSS! Horst makes the trade because Giannis is coming back that weekend and needs to show that we tried to do something. If Harden throws a fit earlierrr, WHO KNOWWSSS...maybe we have Harden instead. All hypothetical, but yeah fun to think about.
At the end of they day we got Giannis and that's all that matters, but damn Giannis and Harden is nicee

I could see them moving Middleton after this season if we hit a snag in the POs again.

I'd love Harden as a basketball fit, it just always seemed impossible for some reason, even when Harden said it's not out of the question. I mean when has a guy like that ever been willingly traded to MKE? Or any small market.
Not sure about Wall man... I mean he did look good in a couple of pre-season games now, but back then? Plus we really need a guy to shoot decently and willingly next to Giannis, Wall likes to go to the paint a lot.
Lowry's is too old as well. We had to plan the team at the time with a 3-4 year horizon as a minimum, for Giannis to see.

I feel like most people would try to make fringe moves that would maybe appease Giannis enough to get him to sign.
