No concerns that Lavine can’t seem to stay healthy?

If there was a way to somehow make the Buck's horrendous collective BBIQ even worse, it would be to trade for Zack Lavine.

I don't even want to trade Jrue, so it ain't projection.

I typically very much enjoy your posts and opinions, however this one should come with a tinfoil hat with all due respect. I do understand the line of thinking but it does not seem at all plausible to blow up team chemistry to put pressure on the front office to trade Jrue even if it is for Dame (who does not want to come to Milwaukee as far as everyone knows, winning with the Heat as arguably their best player and savior does way more for his legacy than coming to the Bucks and winning because of Giannis.)

Giannis said what should be obvious to everyone, this team as constructed has basically a 2 year window together. Giannis being honest about his decision and his concern for what the team looks like in 2 years is incredibly valid. When has Giannis ever been afraid to speak his mind even if it makes everyone else uncomfortable? In know way has he ever said spending time with family is not important, and we know to Giannis that is probably the most important thing. So if he is willing to take time away from his family and commit to being NBA Champions, he is looking for a team full of players willing to take time away from what is most important to them. He very well could be telling the front office in a very public way, do not ever trade for James Harden.

"Losing is not failure."

"I am just a role player."

"A lot of players will tell you, 'When I was a kid, I watched Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, LeBron, Magic, and I wanted to be just like them.' For me, it wasn't like that at all."

“I want the Bucks to build a winning culture,” Antetokounmpo said in the case study. “So far, we have been doing great, and, if this lasts, there’s no other place I want to be. But if we’re underperforming in the NBA next year, deciding whether to sign becomes a lot more difficult.” (2019)

I will definitely own that this is a relatively flimsy theory, but if you think about it as a hunch instead, it's better supported than most.

I don't disagree, and I would be lying if I said it did not cross my mind. My fear is that it becomes a working theory on this board and a Giannis vs Jrue narrative is manifested and then talked about ad nauseam.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

He’s gotten much better. I actually think he’s a decent defender now too.

Somehow in talking on JJ Redick's podcast for 50 mins, Khris had absolutely nothing of consequence to say. One of the most boring episodes of that podcast ever. Literally "I don't remember" for multiple potentially interesting specific basketball questions. What a bummer.

I dont believe theres a team that values Jrue as highly as we (rightfully) do and also has a piece that theyre willing to part with that upgrades the Bucks.

If were talking Jrue, Brook, Midd trades we might as well start talking Giannis trades because to get value those are rebuild trades. Get comfortable with what we have, imo and hope for the best.

And enjoy Giannis. Im probably 60/40 that this is his last season here.

based on what evidence? i would assume any contender would greatly value Jrue. he's a very unique player who makes winning plays even if his playoff offense can be frustrating.

I think every contender would love to have Jrue on his deal. But I'll ask again, what does a deal involving him looks like?

I think NYK are still a pretty plausible destination.

Jrue for quickley, barrett, Roby and a first or two. I’m thinking the value would probably be one first, but I don’t have a sense of where Barrett’s value is right now.

Let’s see if he goes full LeBron mode and demands we trade our future firsts for an aging vet on a mediocre deal. Bogdan is on a brand new 3+1, but I’m sure the Bucks FO is very reluctant to have any dealings with him and his agent.

Nah, this is just Giannis being honest. He understands greatness comes from a constant push to get better. He will simply hold the organization to the same standard he sets for himself. It's called accountability. It's exactly what we should expect from the Bucks MVP during this transition of coaching and ownership. I love it.

what i dont like is the public comments NOW when we have a championship caliber team NOW and quite frankly the failures of this team over the last couple years have not all been just on his teammates

giannis... if you get asked this **** anymore say youre determined to win a championship this year and youre working on elements of your game that you need to work on the same way youd expect your teeamates to answer the same questions

10 for 23 in a 2 point OT elimination loss should not be waved away. That **** was sickening to watch.

exactly. he did not do everything in his power to win. and it wasnt just at the line either. he coasts defensively now in a way ive never seen from him before. perhaps its his health problems but the roving monster free safety action from the championship year and before was gone gone gone.

the guy is supposed to be a two way animal and from his drtg last year the team couldnt tell whether he was on the floor or not. the playoffs exposed his new defensive "style" even further

Last year was his lowest blocks per game tying his rookie year.
