I'll be drinking heavily if they draft Budinger. Good thing I don't see that happening. I think they go PG if they don't land one of the top players in the draft.

For some reason I think we are going to go after Ty Lawson... Which I guess I wouldn't be too upset about.

Remember the old Madonna song "Holiday?"

There you go. :)

Actually I like Budinger a lot better than I did Alexander. I think Chase will be a great value pick somewhere in the 13-18 range.

Part of me wants Hammond to turn this thing around, but part of me wants him to keep screwing up so he can lose Europa's support and Europa can come over to the dark side. Either one would make me happy :)

He won't get $10mm a year. I do not think he's got any leverage in this economy. And most NBA teams know he's a great garbageman but at most a 5-year/$40mm type guy like what Nocioni got during a better economy two years ago. More likely he get an Anderson Varajao 3-year/$22mm type deal.

We'd basically be trading Redd's shooting and his $17m salary for Crawful's $9mm and Lee's $8mm a year. It would be a wash salary wise. But I agree you have to like David Lee. And some people do not. We really don't know who will "thrive" next to Bogut.

I'd give Lee around 7 million, I think that's pretty fair for him and would be a decent value if he continue to put up 10/10 type numbers and bust his ass every time he plays. Lee and Bogut would be a weird combination together since I kind of think Lee is just a poor man's Bogut.

I am also a big fan of 'Crawful'... I might want to trade for him now just so I can bring Crawful signs to the games. ;)

You'll be happy if the Bucks don't do well? Really?

I think that the Spurs need to play Gooden 30+ minutes a game. He isn't the best defender, but he is a good rebounder and they badly need his scoring with Manu out.

Leave it to someone on this board to bring up Michael Redd in a game between the Bulls and Celtics. One of the many reasons I don't spend much time on the Bucks board anymore.

No disrespect to Chris Paul, but come playoff time Tony Parker is the best PG in the NBA... This guy is just absolutely ridiculous every single time the playoffs start, he abuses everyone that he plays against.

I love the guy, but LRMAM is no homerun at this point. He was a very good pick for the slot, but he doesn't look like anything more than a very solid role player going forward. He's going to have to add higher caliber players than Luc in the draft if we are going anywhere.

I consider LRMAM to be a 'home run' in the second round. I think he's the best defender we have had on the Bucks in a long, long time. Any time you can get a guy in the second round that can guard four positions and be considered for the NBA all-defensive team I think that is a great selection for the second round.

Every team that wants to compete for a championship needs a guy like Luc.

Right, but he still needs to add top notch talent. Adding excellent role players like Luc every year would be awesome, but we really aren't going anywhere if he can't add some top talent.

Hitting on very good role players doesn't make up for completely whiffing in the lottery, which is what I am mainly arguing against. I certainly don't want a repeat of the 2008 draft in 2009 or 2010. The post from xTitan that I quoted seemed to imply that would be okay, and I've seen other posts implying the same thing.

I argee we need top tier talent and that hitting in the first round is far more important than in the second.

I guess I am just trying to say that I am very pleased with getting Luc last year in the second round... If we get a second rounder like him every year, that'd be excellent.

We've gotten great second rounders all day long. Redd, Gadz, Ramon, LRMAM, Eric Snow, Bogans, signed Mo Williams, signed Bobby, etc.

We can't win with a team of "all time" second rounders. We've tried it already.

Like I said... I know we need to land talent in the first round. If you want to win a championship, you have to do that.

It certainly isn't a bad thing to be able to draft solid players in the second round though... Now we just have to learn how to do it in the first and we'll be set. ;)
