Understand the league wants to nix the tampering bs teams are doing but I don't know why they have an issue with a GM saying he wants to pay his own player when he can?

Pretty dubious fine. It probably still is a good investment though, as it stakes out the Bucks position to both Giannis and the other teams. Now Giannis could come back with some roster caveats, but that's where the real negotiations start.

Considering all the tampering/right on the edge of tampering that goes on around the league it does seem a little funny that the league decides to make an example of a team stating the obvious that they plan to retain their own player.

Dumbest fine ever. All the overt tampering going on in the bigger market teams is okay, but talking about offering a potential supermax from the only team that can offer GA the supermax is wrong? If Horst and GA were on the Lakers, this would have been celebrated by the league.

A bit OT but, is it me or does this seem like the wrong name for a chat platform? Discord means disagreement, conflict, argument. I would have thought Discourse would make more sense.
