If we're dealing for CP3, it then would feel like the 2009 Cavs dealing for Shaq. We'd be at very similar crossroads.

Is CP3 better than Bledsoe? No doubt.

But at the same time CP3 is also in that 2003 Gary Payton mode. He looks like old CP3, he talks like old CP3, he acts like old CP3. But he doesn't play like old CP3 anymore.

Paul's contract is so unworkable its not worth even considering. If he got bought out then sure but I don't think we'd be his first or second choice. Paul at this point of his career is too old to count on as any sort of long term option and is paid way too much, he's not the same player he was in his prime obviously. Other than basketball IQ I don't think he provides much upgrade over Bledsoe at this point.

I'm not making any moves yet, we're going to win plenty so sit back and see how becomes available on a bargain since it's about who can put us over that hump. Most of the time the most cost efficient option is just off the scrap heap, look at how GSW signed Bogut last year for their playoff run.

I just want to see more lobs and PnR with Giannis being the roll man. We've been getting killed by teams doing that to us this year so it would be nice if our own guys could get some chances to finish plays like that. It's hard to shake the feeling that Bud's offense is way too dependent on being hot from 3, the averages might even out over the long run but you don't know when you're going to be hot or cold during a game and it really sucks to see your team lose a lead just chucking terrible 3 after 3.

I'd rather go after Kevin Love or Blake Griffin if we're looking for another overpaid 'star', both younger with more in the tank and better fits imo.

A CP3 for Bled swap looks something like

Bucks: CP3
Thunder: Bled, Ersan, (2 of DDV, DJ, Sterling)

and the owners willingly wanting to pay the tax for the next 4 years

Bucks exploring trades could explain why we aren't seeing Sterling/DJ/DDV on the court. I'm hopeful there's a reason anyway.

I’ve been putting out the suggestion for a little while now. I just think we’re gonna have to consolidate some pieces at some point. We’ve got some talent at every position on this team but if you’re gonna bench Brown, DDV, DJ or whoever else, it’s better that you move them for legit pieces.

I still just don’t trust Bledsoe & I feel like we need more options when the game slows down besides “throw it to Giannis & have him run from half court”.

We can't even be sure CP3 would be available for the playoffs.

I don’t think so but with Lasry back running the show, plausible. I recall the Marc Lasry interview with Sparky from 3-4 years ago where Lasry said he respected the knowledge of John Hammond, because John was able to inform him why all his suggested trades wouldn’t work under the CBA.

Bledsoe for Jrue Holiday though i think they'd play hardball, thus it will look something like this:

Bucks: Jrue
Pelicans: Bledsoe, DJ, DDV + 1st x 2
In reference to our title winning year

Chris Paul is so gross on this team. Age, contract, Playing style, and personality (hated by many teammates, bully, fake tough guy) are all dealbreakers.

Holiday gets brought up a lot around here. I havent see him play much. Looking at his stats, he looks almost identical to Bledsoe except more assists. So honest question here: what makes him that much more valuable than Bledsoe?

I’m no cap expert but given our cap sheet is maxed I thought we’d have to pretty much match the $$ in any trade? And given CP3 makes $38 mill this year that’s a lot of $$ to match. So we can either do it using Midds once he’s available to trade or package Bleds, Ersan and basically all our young guys.

Or am I missing something here?

Bledsoe has been pretty, Meh, but I do think he's playing through an injury and not himself. I'm willing to give him a few weeks to recover, and hopefully we get to see that exciting brand of Bledsoe again.

I like regular season Bledsoe... pitbull of a defender, overwhelms with speed and power, makes you guard the rim, good contract. He obviously is not 100% right now. Lets give him some time to heal and mesh. On a squad with so many old dudes, I don’t want to lose his speed and physicality.

I question if anyone advocating for Chris Paul is aware of his postseason accolades over the last three years (he’s not getting better)
