Yikes. Giannis may be staying but this franchise still has a long way to go.

Ujiri is a long shot, but they really need someone competent and respected overseeing things. I don’t hate Horst, but it’s hard to imagine him going toe to toe with someone like Pat Riley. The billionaires seemed to learn a lesson with Kidd, so hopefully they can learn another.

The rest of the roster will consist of very cheap guys. I don't want to be pessimistic but I am afraid our big 3 will not be big 3 enough and the rest of the roster will be very pedestrian to lead us to a championship. Anyway this is a day of celebration

Name the teams that would have a better trio than Giannis, Middleton and Jrue.

fist we don't play 3 on 3, we play 5 against 5 and usually some people are subbed as well. I don't want to get into which trios are better but when for example you have Lebron and AD you throw another one and you get a better trio

That Athletic article curiously neglected to mention the new blowjob bell for Mallory that Wes pulled out as the ace in the hole to close the deal.

Pat’s agent really knew his value. Especially after the Bucks botched the first contract offer.

We’re fine now.

Instead of our franchise being on the clock, Bud is now on the clock. If he doesn’t get it done this year, they’ll find another coach.

after losing bogdan we had to keep pat. i feel like it would have been akin to dumping thansis if we cheaped out and i think other teams were offering him that range

Lowry's is too old as well. We had to plan the team at the time with a 3-4 year horizon as a minimum, for Giannis to see.

Lowry or CP3 would be a great stopgap while looking for a longer-term solution though. Plus you have to remember that they'd still have most of those picks to jump on some future opportunity that comes along. Keeping those picks to make opportunistic deals is part of planning for the future. Getting good value on trades is intrinsically part of planning for the future.

That said, until proven otherwise, I'm just going to tell myself that they had to make the Jrue trade to get Giannis to extend because it helps keep me sane.

This will make it slightly more difficult for the Bucks to trade Giannis. I say slightly because salaries can't exceed 35% of the cap even with bonuses like trade kickers so the only way this is significant is if there's a huge unexpected spike in the cap.

I don't see Lasry ever allowing us to have a top tier GM. Horst is the perfect competent guy for him.

I'm just glad I don't have to come up with more stupid song lyrics. (7 coaches coaching, was next, by the way)
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

As optimistic as some posters were about Giannis signing the max, it was touch and go based on the article. Giannis himself did not know what he was going to do until recently. This wasn’t a done deal for weeks and or months - I think we should all be glad it turned out the way it did. It was no gimme.

Giannis didn't just decide today that he was signing. It was all but done for a few weeks now. Few things had to get ironed out. And that's all I'm saying on the subject.

Just glad everything is official finally and we can all move on. It can't be overstated how much this means to this franchise and the city of MKE. So pumped over this!
