Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Haven't bought a TV outside a 55" TCL for my office in a while. With the new house I was looking at the following but could use advice:
75" Roku - Rated well for bright rooms and good streaming option for the living room. This is for the kids, I never watch TV in the living room and our new one is bright AF. Won't game or anything other than kids Netflix, Disney+ and my wife doing Hulu from time to time.
75" TCL QM7 - for the man cave, also bright but not as much. Seems to be good. Will game on it with the Xbox often and watch sports.
Should I reconsider any of these?

Absolutely incredible game. I'll be playing it forever trying to get as many cherries as possible.ACGB wrote:Still pretty hooked on UFO 50. There's so many different ideas and genres within the 50 games it's incredible.

I'd been holding off on getting into Baldurs Gate 3 until mods arrived for home consoles, which they did this week. The list of mods isn't huge yet and most are cosmetic. Still some useful stuff in there like increased carry weight, increased party size, and a better looking map.
Enjoying the game a lot.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
It’s been a minute since I’ve been in this thread. Off-season plus planning a wedding keeps one busy. Also just been playing more physical games vs video games lately (TTRPGS, cards, board games, painting 40K, etc…).
Picked up Space Marine 2, haven’t played it much but really like that it’s kind of old school and being pretty up front that it’ll give a short and sweet campaign.
Anyone picking up the D4 expansion? I liked the base game’s campaign, but it had its other issues. Been hoping this has a Reaper of Souls type effect that made D3 exponentially better, but I’m not holding my breath.

I dove into D4 a bit the last two seasons, they made massive changes (improvements, imo) to gameplay.
Not sure I'll get the expansion as I kind of burnt out, but we shall see.

I’m thinking about it, just to play the new class and the new area.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
I got my Spectrum bill today of $82.99. I called them to cancel with the intention of resetting my promotional rate 30 days from now. They said because I'd been a Spectrum customer for six years I was eligible for a new and better rate with faster service. So now my speed is 600 mbs download and the price dropped to $47.
If you're in a similar situation, give them a call. Maybe you save yourself $431 over the next year.

Well it sounds like Metaphor: ReFantazio is great. It's sitting at 94 on Metacritic.

The demo is indeed quite fun, with several good improvements on some old Persona elements. Think I'm going to pick it up this weekend; I've got Monday off which will make a good day to veg and game for hours on end.

Yeah, I'm in on the Metaphor hype. Goodbye, weekend.

I still have never played a Persona game, and I have t had much time for video games lately, but I might check this demo out at least with all the hype around it.

I played 24 for a bit when I got my Xbox because it was on game pass. Was very, very underwhelming. And I can't believe people will pay full price and then some on MUT. After FC25 got awful reviews, I hope sales start plummeting so some competition comes along.

The opening couple hours are slow while they set the stage of the world. To avoid spoilers - when you get back to the capital after going through the mines, start to judge from there. It's picking up steam at that point and starts to give you a better feel of the Persona elements/influence.

I bought satisfactory and I've just unlocked coal. I am such a newb.

What zone did you start in? I'm in the recommended newbie one. I just finished my first coal factory last night with 8 burners. I have a pretty detailed iron factory (not getting enough iron for full efficiency, but it works!), and a basic copper factory which I converted from my original flat layout I used just to get started. The iron factory took me the longest. I'm producing screws, RIPs, rotors, modular frames, and smart plates all for storage, and several other things just as components. I thought my brain had broken about a dozen times while constructing it.
Having everything connected to a continuous energy source is SO NICE.
I went with the newb zone.
Unlocked blueprints. Played around and came up with a 3-coal factory design. Sooooooo easy so slap that down to add more power now.
Gonna grind out stage 2 and then probably revamp my whole factory. The truck-shuttle pathing thing is pretty neat.
Stalling at unlocking all the tier 5 and 6 stuff.
Want to rebuild but stuffer from squirrel syndrome. Everything is a distraction.

I can't play it but I can laugh at the video of players running full speed in heavy winter gear and two feet of snow.

I was going to say it seemed solid and I have yet to get to the mines
