Those Packer players you name aren't being asked to lead the organization in all respects, both on and off the court.

Further the DUI's and wife beating indicate an inability to control his emotional state, predictive or at least congruent with his inability to stay with one franchise at many points the last 20 years. He usually gets angry about something, burns bridges and moves on.

We need stability here and there are many others who could provide that better. No need to reach here on a move that has significant risk on multiple fronts.

Larry Harris had a DUI while on the job. RC Buford as well. Lets not act like having a DUI is in the same light as armed robbery. Im not arguing for the move Im just trying to remain grounded without knowing all the facts and angles. The domestic ordeal happened 13 years ago and he paid his debt to society.

This is a very public position, coach and GM. The Bucks are trying to get a new arena. The opposition will have a field day with his background.

Even setting aside the domestic issues or DUI, trying to take control of a team a year after they hired you for a position you were way unqualified for and then forcing your way out when you don't get your wish is a scumbag move.

Still ****. You're one of 30 guys that gets to coach an NBA team. You haven't earned even that job, let alone the one above it, you should be fine with having to work your way up.

I'd just as soon stay away from Jason Kidd. Character means a lot and I don't know how anyone could trust him. I'd be optimistic if they went out and threw the farm at a novice like Grant Hill...if he were interested. That's the kind of face you want to put out as the head of your organization.

With that being said, the Kidd hire is obviously going to happen in some capacity and I don't stress over things that I can't control. The best scenario for me given the circumstances would be for Kidd to become POBO, retain Hammond as GM, and hire Mark Jackson as Head Coach.

Mark Jackson is a very spiritual man and would be a good personal role model for young guys like Parker and Giannis. Along with that, he absolutely would not tolerate guys like Sanders and any other coming to work after a night of partying and smoking weed. He'd demand accountability and those type of players would rot on the bench where they belong. He'd absolutely demand championship level character and accountability.

Billy King sucks. Why is anyone mad at Kidd for trying to make a power move on him? If ur boss at work was a hack and u had the opportunity to tell the big boss that u think u can do a better job then why are u so wrong for doing so? I don't get that.

There's reasons not to like Kidd, but making a power move on Billy King should definitely not be 1 of them.

Carl posted this:

After he yelled at Dmitry Kidd asked the Russians for permission to speak with the Bucks. The Russians texted his agent, and said OK. Kidd called Dmitry, and cursed him for not calling directly.

So perhaps when Lasry bought the Bucks he said something like "maybe we can work together at some point Jason". Kidd then makes a power play, knowing he'd be rebuffed, and said "OK, I want to work for the Bucks" and the Russians said OK.

I have feeling this is Kidd approaching us and not us approaching him.

In any case I don't want him as POBO, GM or Coach.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

If I worked for Billy King, I would be trying to take his job too. Man is not good at being a GM.

If I had been working there for a week and had been hired despite having no college degree and a checkered history, it would be wrong.

I hoping this has all been blown out of proportion and that Kidd came crawling to Lasry when he knew he would be fired. I think Gery started the rumor that it had been offered to Kidd

This is where I'm at too. Kidd IMO merely tried to make a move to self preserve. King is an absolute joke and nearly cost JK his job last season. If I was in his position I would do the same to try and certainly keep my employment. I cant fault JK for that one bit.

Now with all the other information starting to leak out Im becoming warmer and warmer to this move. I still fully believe he will need a strong staff around him to allow him to grow but this could be another homerun type of move. Now the compensation part gets tricky with what BK wants. Hopefully this can all get rectified shortly.

I think we're beyond the hope that this is all blown out of proportion. Woj is the best there is and he seems to think that the Nets and Bucks have discussed compensation for Kidd. This is definitely real.

What credentials did Danny Ainge have before becoming Director of Basketball Operations, anyone know?

To people saying Kidd is justified in trying to make a power play because King sucks and asking "wouldn't you do the same if your boss was incompetent?" - That is really not how it works, at all. If my boss is incompetent, and I'm unqualified for my current job, that still doesn't give me the right or the leverage to try and take his job. I'm still not qualified, even if he's a clown. It's even worse when I've only been doing my current job for a freaking year, and didn't even do that great of a job.

yeah tell me more about the stupidity of a multi-millionaire who is about to get his next job because of his close relationship with a billionaire.

lol, running a team is a bit different to playing basketball. It does require basic comprehension skills.

No one ever questioned that. I'm questioning disqualifying a guy because he did badly on a standardized test he took 30 years ago, especially when a billionaire (Lasry) is clearly fond of him and finds him capable of performing the task. I also don't believe you could be an elite HOF point guard in the NBA without "basic comprehension skills" or an understand of how basketball works and how players work off of each other...you know, important things when it comes to team building.

Your perspective is Kidd is unqualified. Other perspective is Kidd is vastly more qualified than Billy King. There in lies the disconnect.

And good lord, as far as "compensation" goes...We should be taking their first round picks for taking this problem off their hands if it happens.
