Thank god he didn't get to trade the Giannis pick for Josh Smith and extend Jennings and Monta like he wanted to as well.

Joe Alexander - Played 67 games in the NBA. Bad
Brandon Jennings - Played 4 seasons for the team, traded, turned into a well below average bench guard.
Larry Sanders - Played 5 seasons. Crazy. Out of the league.
Tobias Harris - Played 80 games for team before being traded. Solid versatile tweener.
John Henson - Played 5 seasons. Backup centre.
Giannis Antetokounmpo - Star.
Rashad Vaughn - Behind Jason Terry on the depth chart.
Thon Maker. Might be the non crazy version of Sanders.

Depending on how you feel about Thon/Tobes there's only one sure fire starter out of 8 picks.

Parker?

Yep...

Sanders going crazy hurt... Pretty funny watching posters hitting on Hammond for not seeing that coming-

I wanted him fired before that. But yeah, glad he made the pick he did in 13.

Hammond only took this job because it's much easier to get his Disney Fan Fiction published in Orlando.

There is no way to judge Hammond with hypotheticals. If you are to judge him on a speculative proposition that he was the voice of reason, then have at it. The only judge i know of is the overall record under his tenure and playoff success. To that end, Hammond is a colossally below average GM. Not once did he lead us to a promising HC. Not once did he assemble a team that won 50 games. Not once did he assemble a team that made it to round 2 of the playoffs. There is just this lingering hypothetocal scenario that he was handcuffed by two groups of meddling owners whereby his genius was stifled or suppressed. This is hogwash. John Hammond is the very definition of unspectacular. Now he can go be Weltman's pet pony for awhile. Oh yay.

Jonny Flynn was a decent prospect, he just got hurt right away and never recovered.

I was more bothered by the Jordan Hill infatuation.

Whitewashing the Jennings - Knight/Middleton trade and making stuff up about trading the Giannis pick is hilarious...

I've said it a million times about Hammond, he never seemed to have a plan, treated the team like it was fantasy basketball, multiple moves every off season with no direction, no blueprint. My question is if Johnny was such a good drafter, why could he not develop a foundation in 9 years? I would say that Giannis is now the core piece, but I look at what they have and where they are now and it seems like a long shot they become a true contender, they need Thon to become a star, but still fall short on adding high talent around Giannis.

I know, two second google searches are hard.

Give Hammond credit though for collecting assets so unappealing that Atlanta didn't want to trade an expiring Josh Smith for them.

I have to admit I'm throwing myself under the bus here too because I do think he's a good drafter. But the results speak for themselves. Can you imagine if he were GM of the Packers for 9 years and, at best, they were one and done in the playoffs for 3 of those years and that's as far as they went?

We'd be going crazy to get him out of here. But for a team like the Bucks, he's what?
