Honestly not concerned about deal length. Our owners are clearly willing to cut their losses when Horst (or they) decides we need to.

I'm sure they don't WANT to give away more money than they need to, but if we do sign Doc for four years or whatever, I'm 0.0% convinced we're actually locked-up. Like, we just fired our (train wreck) coach in exactly half of a season.

I get that but I think it was emunney that has mentioned how yet another firing is likely to sour candidates desire to take this job. And if they fire 3 coaches in 2 years, 2 that have won rings, how does that not make the job less appealing?

Kendrick Perkins or somebody on ESPN made a good point in saying that all of Doc's assistants are with teams already. I guess that will go for anybody the Bucks hire, though.

Just need some improvement in timeouts, substitutions, play calling.
Doc should be better at those things.
Less defensive focus on 3p shots, should improve those open drives to the lane. But there will b a cost there also.
We will still need to outscore everyone.
Doesn't matter if we make 1 trade for a defensive player.
Just hope that's all enough to win a Cship.
Or, Dame and Giannis carry everyone to a Cship....like Jrue and G did for our Cship

This person I know is well connected. There’s concerns about my trust just because they usually don’t say much, I don’t know them that well, so I don’t really know what to make of it. There’s no timeline so I would read this as turbulence - does that result in a firing at any moment? Probably, if this is accurate.

And I get that for sure, but I'm not convinced that would keep coaches from the opportunity to coach Giannis and Dame.

That’s worth being excited? I wanted Griffin fired just like every other Bucks fan with half a brain, I didn’t want him hired in the 1st place. I was a huge advocate for Kenny Atkinson when they named the final 3 and wanted Chris Quinn most of all if we were going to go the rookie HC route. But 1 name I never wanted to even be a possibility was Doc Rivers and for good reason, he’s an absolute **** coach. And here we are. So what’s everyone so excited about? We got it wrong twice, yay?

Again, as has been stated many times, I doubt anyone is excited for Rivers, but he's better than Griffin. I'm with you, I'd prefer Atkinson or D'Antoni, or several other guys, but today is a good day whether they hire Rivers or not. It would definitely be better if it wasn't Rivers, I agree.

I guess it is premature to just immediately let the possibility of a bad thing ruin the moment. It’s certainly a good thing the FO had the stones to fire Griff now and not completely waste the season away letting him just wing it and ride Giannis and Dame to wins against bad teams. Whether it’s Doc or not I won’t ever stop being a fan of the team so I’ll have to just ride the wave and hope for the best just like a few months ago when we hired Griffin and I had no idea what we were in for. The carousel continues for now, I’m just not very excited about Doc tho. Hiring him puts a huge damper on my excitement level unfortunately. Who knows tho, maybe/hopefully I’m wrong because I wouldn’t be mad about that lol.
