I'm playing BG3 with some serious cheats. I just want to experience the story, man. But I'm deep into Act 2, and I would give my life for Karlach. What an incredible character. Want nothing but the best for her.

I woke up and was like let me try Metaphor. Then 8 hours passed and I forgot to work. It’s the weekend baby

Merchant seems absolutely busted. I'm pretty sure the "chance" to get extra gold for overworld kills is actually a guarantee. I am absolutely swimming in cash.

Does anyone playing Metaphor (or has played Persona games in the past) have any tips? I feel like I am blowing through MP because normal attacks don't do much damage.
Spoiler:
I'm still in the mines where you can fight the dragon. I probably should skip it because I have ~15MP per character in my party, but I also don't know how much dungeon is left. I feel like I am conserving resources poorly.

I've stopped buying 2k a few years ago. Do they ever work on trying to make the gameplay better instead of making other games to play within the game? This seems silly.

MP conservation in dungeons is a pretty key gameplay decision in Persona games (and maybe SMT also), and it carries over here. Since there's so much focus on your time management to hit deadlines in the story, this is one of the ways the game puts some pressure on you as what could take you out of a dungeon and have to "spend" multiple free days there.

I don't recall the monsters from the mines specifically, but I would suggest:

- Killing as many enemies in the overworld as you can.
- Be really considerate of MP use, even with your mage. If you can kill an enemy in another way, or on a later turn, preserve the MP now.
- Use your items, too. You'll be able to buy HP replenishing items infinitely, and though MP replenishing items are throttled, you can buy some of them also. But the more you can use your MP for non-healing spells, the better IMO.
- Rotate your magic users. When you run low or out of MP with your current mage, switch them to another archetype and make someone else the mage.
- The mage also has a passive ability to replenish MP for your entire party by killing monsters in the overworld. This is exploitable with enemies respawning, but even when not replenished, is still very useful.
- In my experience, this gets progressively easier in the future dungeons I've come across so far. There are more weaknesses you can hit without magic (physical), or using weapons to trigger magic damage.

Specific tips for your fight:
Spoiler:
- The dragon fight isn't too bad if you keep your team in the back row and continually skip to your mage(s) to use blizzard. But, of course, this is predicated on you having MP to do so.
- Aside from magic, the merchant in the prior room (maybe two rooms prior?) sells ice cubes which deal ice damage. This is a good supplementary option.

Metaphor update, about 30 hours in.
This game is so good. Characters are so well written and I love the fantasy setting.

minuscule spoiler

A bit beyond the prologue in Metaphor and I'm loving the world and characters. It's playing in the Attack on Titan/Berserk space to great effect so far.

Hades 2 just received a big update that included native Mac support, so I guess I found out what I'll be playing for the next couple weeks.

Picked up Super Mega Baseball 4 for $10 on switch. Never played a SMB before but game seems cool. I'm probably going to spend a stupid amount of time shuffle drafting until I get Molitor and Yount on the same team lol.

I suck at hitting, can't seem to time the power swing release. Any tips from those who've played?

You can always turn the ego or whatever they call it down. I personally only use the power swing until I get my first strike basically but in general I feel like you have to power swing earlier than you think.

Awesome game though.

In their defense, if you take their word for it, it wasn't the NBA 2k team that made this; it was the people that made their Lego racing game. They just thought the best way to get people to try it was making it a part of NBA.

But from the sound of it the actual NBA 2K team made the game worse with their latest patch which is par for the course with them. Every year they make shooting good at release and people complain because they can't shoot 70% from 3 in MyCareer so 2K breaks the game with their first patch to appease them.

Edit: I would also say the gameplay does improve every year but the first month or two of the game's release is always the best from a gameplay perspective.

There's a demo on Steam - maybe on consoles, too? Worth checking if you're interested. I played for a little bit to check it out, and it seems solid but unremarkable to me so far.

They actually created “eras mode” which is incredible. You can grab a squad with Ray and Sam and Timmy… or Jennings and Bogs and Maggette… or young Giannis and Henson and Delly, etc

Super fun to go back in time and replay all those guys at different points in the league.

Put a few hours into it this weekend, super fun game and the franchise mode with legends League is cool.

I ended up turning the ego down to 10 as I learned hitting and I'm up to 20 currently. My pitching is way ahead of my hitting, not sure I ever want full control over fielding so I might have to start adjusting individual ego levels. I'm old and enjoy some edibles before video games so I probably will never get too high on ego, old reflexes probably can't handle it lol.

For $10 I highly recommend.

I can't remember where I ended up with the egos, but I definitely set each aspect individually because like you said, certain parts of my game were far ahead of other parts. It's a really great game; feels like a spiritual successor to the Backyard Baseball series but modernized.

I haven't played it in awhile now, but I had created a league of 30 teams where I fully customized all the logos, stadiums, etc. and got to really immerse myself in the universe I had created.

It's easily surpassed MLB The Show for me as my go-to baseball game. It obviously isn't as realistic but it's simply a lot of fun.
