According to Hoopsworld, the 10th pick only gets 1.8 mil. Is that correct? For some reason, I heard $2.2

For some reason, this really puts into perspective how mediocre or bad the draft is:

ESPN says the Raptors are looking at Flynn with the 9th pick. The reason why makes me laugh. :D

Chris Broussard: I'm told that Toronto really likes Jonny Flynn and that the Raptors will strongly consider taking him if he's there at No. 9. According to sources, there is some sentiment within the Raptors organization that they need more of a risk-taker than Jose Calderon at PG, especially if they re-sign Shawn Marion. Flynn, projected to go anywhere from No. 4 to No. 11, would love to go there.

Who were the best second round types we brought in? Was it McNeal and Heytfelt? I think we draft Heytfelt is we draft a PG at ten if so. I think we draft McNeal there if we go big early. Unless I am wrong and there are some other "bigger" second round names we brought in. I just get the feeling our brass is going to pick someone in the second round that they brought in.

I think the Bucks take Pendergraph or Nivins at 41.

DX now has us taking DeRozan, don't know if it means anything but I hope it ends up being correct.

That would be amazing. I gave up hope weeks ago that DeRozan would be there at our pick.

I know, a Sessions/DeRozan/LRMAM/Bogut core is such a great mix. Just need a sharpshooter and a banger PF.

I just have this suspicion that Tyler Hansbrough is the pick. He is kind of the anti-Joe A.

He has a position (PF)

He has an NBA ready game (He is not a project or potential pick)

He compliments players that will be on the roster (Amir is a very different PF... acutally combine the best points of Psyco-T and Amir and you have Tim Duncan, lol).

He has translatable skills (rebounding, toughness, touch arround the basket, mid-range game, positioning, and ability to draw contact and make free throws)

Almost every other player who is slotted for the Bucks in the mock drafts could potentially be another JA (DeRozan, Holiday, Hill). They are high-ceiling/potential guys, but I do not think Hammond wants to take any risk of making the same mistake twice. And YES it is Hammond's fault if DeRozan ("I've only reached half my potential") or Holiday turn out to be Potsie-part-II.

I think Hammond would love to move back and get Psycho-T and pick up a late first (Lawson, Collison). At least that's what I would do.

Does anyone think Curry might be the one to fall. That's my "longshot" of who we end up taking and/or who ends up falling to ten. What a nice guy to pair with Sessions for ten minutes or so a game at guard, despite being undersized. I just think there's a chance the Knicks go in another direction (Hill) and the other lottery teams look elsewhere. Again, that's my "longshot" guess for tomorrow.

Curry won't get past the Knicks.

Again Luke, it's my longshot. But don't you think there's a chance the Knicks might prefer Hill over Curry, especially if those reports of the guarantee are false? I guess I just think there's a chance of it.

Everything I've seen has been saying Knicks want Curry pretty bad, and the feeling is mutual, even rumors of them trading up for him. I'd be surprised if he's not the pick by them if he's there, but I don't think he will be available. You could be right though.

Well let's just agree to hope there's a Bayless/Lopez type situation like last year. None of us would have given a ten percent chance of either being there at eight, much less both. It'd be nice if a Curry/Evans/Derozan/Rubio magically falls to ten.

Edited to add that I don't think Hammond is dumb enough to pass on guys that are better just because they were supposed to go higher and he didn't work them out, and thus decides to pass on them again this year. He'll take the slider this year (I think/hope).

That's a rare blend from a power forward. Sheed up until recently was one of the few. I'd settle for someone that has length who could move laterally with power forwards and shoot pretty well from the outside. Ersan is not far from fitting that description, he's just a bit undersized, and probably won't ever be of plus starting caliber.

As far as selecting Nivins in the 2nd, that would be quite a disappointing pick to me based on the footage (albeit modest) that I watched of him from college. In spite of the impressive individual rebounding total, it just seemed like he got them because someone on his team needed to, and because he played a massive amount of minutes. Visa vie the former, St. Joseph's rebounding percentage as a team was quite bad last year. Nivins didn't read the ball off the boards on the glass very well and got pushed around. The dramatic spike in rebounding from his junior to senior year is a red flag. Offensively he didn't have the ability to make very tough shots from what I could see. In help he wasn't all that aware and reacted slowly (or was just lazy). If we took a big man from the Atlantic 10, I'd much prefer Gaffney. Nivins couldn't do much in the first game against UMASS while Gaffney was on the court. Second game Gaffney was a little better statistically and his team won.

I meant sharpshooter as in sharpshooting wing, and a banger PF. I consider DeRozan a GF and LRMAM a F, with Sessions a true PG and Bogut a true C.

We already have a banger at PF in Kurt Thomas. Just kidding basically. But we will get a PF in round two I think. I have a feeling Heyfelt is the guy because we worked him out and the one year history of our current brass means we'll only pick someone we worked out. Hopefully that doesn't hold true because it is completely stupid. But that'll be my guess. Pendegraph would be quite nice if he is there as well.

I thought you might have, but you need all those attributes on the court at the same time to get full benefit. Otherwise you're always going to have a team flaw or an unideal lineup on the court in a given game.
