What are we possibly going to get for Ersan that is better than that deal? He's a half-a-year rental player that most of these teams could throw the full MLE at if they really want him.

Maybe if he was playing this way and had another year left on his deal at ~$3 million he'd be worth more than this... but I'm not even sure he's worth this now.

If I'm rebuilding, having Jackson and Gooden are almost the best possible scenarios with how we'd want to tank.

I realize that isn't very practical, but I have no problem with those guys eating cap for a few years.

Trading the bad contracts and signing Ersan (assuming this isn't a mirage) may help our cap situation a bit, but it holds us back further from tanking.

The Bucks would get a good look at a bunch of young forwards as well. Plus the pick. I love it for Milwaukee.

Have that deal go down and another moving Bogut and things would be looking pretty good.

What I'd want:

1. Trade Ersan for a pick. Let Gooden and Jackson rot here. Maybe we take extra salary on our something for them eventually and gain an extra pick.

2. Trade those two and sign Ersan with some of the savings. Probably more of a practical/ideal solution, but I'm not bothered with Gooden/Jackson on the roster during a rebuild.

One, we are trading Ersan. We aren't required to sign him back or even sign him in the first place.

Two, why do you need guys like Jax and Gooden to tank? Just play all of your young players and fire Skiles. That should be more than enough to get you into the five or 6 worst teams. OKC had Kevin **** Durant on their squad after they drafted him and couldn't get out of the top 5 until their youth started to develop.

Move Ersan in this deal if it is at all possible. Then move Bogut for more picks/young players and just let the picks/young players play. No way that team is good enough to ruin a tank... unless you land a Kyrie Irving level guy in the draft and he carries you out of the lottery in his rookie season.

We could re-sign Ersan without making any moves this summer. There is always the amnesty if they ever need space.

The cap is probably the least of my worries. I'd rather not have to pay Jackson and Udrih next year, but they will be expirings. And Gooden, like I've said for a decade, contracts like his aren't the ones that kill you. It's paying guys like Redd $17 million or Rashard Lewis $20 plus. If we give Ersan the full MLE or even a million or two more, who gives a ****?

That's not the base deal though. At the least the primary part of the deal is good for Milwaukee.

Outgoing: Ersan, Udrih, Brockman
Incoming: Beasley, Randolph, Orton, Harper and ORL 1st

I like that deal and don't imagine there is a much better offer for Ersan. The second part was adding Gooden for Earl Clark.

A pick in the late 20s. I think he's worth more than that, but whatever. Not worth an argument.

I missed those pick offers.

I was just responding to the fact that I'm glad we have Gooden and Jax on the team for tank/rebuild.

Sorry, I didn't see the proposed trades.

What are you smoking today?

So you'd rather just not do the trade, pass up getting a draft pick, keep Ersan on the team which makes us win more games and then resign him as opposed to...

Pulling the trigger on the deal, getting a late first, freeing up cap room and then having the ability to just resign Ersan as an UFA since he said he'd go where the most money is anyways?

ARE YOU **** KIDDING ME?

Just read the 20+ pages I missed, ugh that was grueling. The only redeeming factor was the laughable deals Washington fans came here with, wow those were bad.

I just don't see the Wiz being a decent trading partner for us at all......

No, I'd look for a better deal. As I've said, I think he's worth more. If the Orlando deal is the only thing on the table I'd hold onto him with the goal of bringing him back. If we can't then all we're out is dumping Jackson and Udrih, and a late first. Udrih and Jackson are expiring, meaning we could use them to pick up a late first next year. I don't see a lot of value in jumping on Orlando's deal.

What is Hollinger's deal again?

We send out Ersan, Udrih and Gooden and get back Randolph, Beasley and a 1st?

Gotcha. So you'd rather win more games, have less picks and have a worse cap situation if you can't get better than the Orlando deal.

I won't take any more of your posts about wanting to tank and rebuild seriously. Thanks for the tip.

You just cannot comprehend how much Ersan is truly worth. It's better to just hang onto him, win more games and then try to resign him... as opposed to winning less games, having more picks and then just bidding on him as a UFA with the cap room you free up.

How can you not see that, PP? ;)

My favorite part of the whole thread was the wiz fan that said they'd be taking Bogut off our hands like we're looking to dump him. Couldn't tell if some of them were serious.

I like this deal

Bogut, Brockman for McGee, Vesley, Crawford, and their high 2012 second rounder

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
