I don't know how people are on this Zora train. The awkward pacing (ie. talking really fast just to get something said) and pauses remind me of the Boom goes the Dynamite guy trying to catch up to the action well after the fact.

I'm not thrilled with any of them other than Marques. Radio or TV people. They just really lost a ton of knowledge and goodwill with Ted and Paschke.

TV side suffered far more with the new additions.

Dave Koehn without a doubt got better as the season went on....but still not anywhere close to where Ted Davis left us. But Ben Brust is far better than anything Denis Krause brought.

There's an eye-opening piece in today's New York Times that asserts something about sports media talking heads we all understand, but I for one had never really thought about it much: there's no money in right.

One of the top ESPN-to-Fox personalities is a longtime radio host named Colin Cowherd, who once noted, in an almost admirably honest interview with Bryan Curtis of The Ringer, that “in my business, being absolutely, absurdly wrong occasionally is a wonderful thing.” He also said he constantly tells one of his friends in the industry that “there’s no money in right,” and concluded a rumination about whether he’d been wrong about the subject of that day’s show — his accusation that a particular quarterback didn’t prepare enough for games — by asking, “Who cares?”

Wrong on purpose is not necessarily a bad strategy. Opinion stories are disproportionately represented at the top of news sites’ most-shared lists, and internal Facebook memos made public in the fall of 2021 revealed that the company had been rewarding outside content that users reacted to with the “angry face” emoji with better placement in news feeds.

Feel the need to jump from the top rope with an old man commentary on Kane Pittman. The guy is very smart and has worked his butt off to get where he's at. Respect. But as the months go by, having a harder and harder time understanding him clearly on LOB with the accent. Need the Aussies to weigh-in whether his is a bit on the heavy-side.

I don't find his accent that bad at all. I do encounter an aussie now and then and some have a thicker accent that's more challenging to understand.

Kane is not in that group at all, at least for me.

Kane is totally understandable to me, as a raised Wisconsinite living in LA; he just takes the easy way out as a company man too often for my liking. I still listen if there is a major event, but otherwise accept the fact that no one in the media sees my Bucks through a lens similar to mine. He seems like a fantastic guy, though.

Gimme someone who actually gives a damn about the team (Zora) vs. some polished talking head bullsh–—-ing through games.

We've had a few of the unbearables now, in the Lasry Edens years. Gus & Lisa. Hopefully Lisa lands her next gig asap.

These guys are the gold standard for me, for local podcast coverage. Total pros, solid pace, and they do criticize the team quite often

Selfishly I'm very pleased to report he's still going to be able to do LOB with me :)

But awesome that ESPN Australia is giving him a full-time contract after doing a ton of cool stuff for them over the past couple years (he's been on their weekly TV shows for the NBA and NBL in addition to writing and having a chance to do sideline on the Boomers' TV broadcast recently).

Jonathan Tjarks died yesterday. His essay on family and friendship is very affecting.

Terrible news. I remember reading that essay when he first posted it and it was quite moving.

Was Ben brust replaced by Justin Garcia for color on the home games?

Noticed all he’s doing last night is RT-ing competitor Eric Nehm’s game tweets.

Can confirm it's not Jim's fault-- he wants to be at every game, home and away.
