Isn't the apron just for the year you acquired the S&T player?

Tbh, I never heard of the apron until yesterday, so I don't know. But looking at the chart, it seems to cover each year.

So if they pull off that deal for Schroder does this one not happen? Or were they trying for all three of Schroder/Holiday/Bogdanovic?

When a club uses the bi-annual exception, acquires a player via sign-and-trade, or uses more than the taxpayer portion ($5,718,000) of the mid-level exception, that club will face a hard cap for the remainder of the league year.

Nope it's just for the year you utilize the MLE/BAE/perform a S&T deal.

Maybe Horst trolled Pelinka? And they always wanted Jrue. Cause that's just not probable. Bledsoe was going out to OKC with 24.

If we did get Leuer taken off that would open up a lot of possibilities. With him off we'd be able to sign full MLE, full BAE, 3 full vet minimum deals and a rookie contract minimum.

I want Gallo. Fill out the rest of the roster with vet minimums, there will be some good ones that like what we're doing. Between the Bucks (rightfully) building up good will with the bubble strike and a good portion of players turning on LBJ for acting like a baby during that time, I wouldn't be shocked if we got a discount or two.

Thanks, so while we are limited next year in what we can do, we can sign Gallo. While the lux tax will be brutal, we can still do it. Let's get Gallo and a bunch of cheap players chasing a ring.

Sounds like a plan. Image

The thing I like most about these moves is the confidence it shows in putting together the rest of the roster on a shoestring. We're likely to have 2-3 2nd rounders/UDFA guys. This is where the player personnel dept has a chance to distinguish itself.

Thinking about this after some sleep. While understandable everyone wants to toss that MLE (or whatever dollars it actually is) at their favorite guy, this team probably is better off dividing it up among 2-3 key guys.

While our starting five looks great, this still isn’t 2010 Wade/Bosh/LeBron. We’re going to need that depth in the 6-9 roster spots. Real players versus a washed Korver or Marvin.

Bring back the former Hawks....Teague, Bazemore and Milsap.

Does anyone actually know what we have left?

Can we discuss vet minimum players who would actually make an impact? Too lazy to look who is going to be floating around.

Not exactly because it depends on Bogdanovic's contract, but John Hollinger basically laid it out. We should have somewhere in the neighborhood of $12-15 million to fill the remaining 7 roster spots. With the vet minimum being $1.5 mil, that means that we can spend roughly $3-6 mil of the MLE. If we hypothetically buy two 2nd round picks, that would mean we can spend more like $5-8 mil of the MLE.

Edit: Sorry engel, apparently quoted the wrong post.
