We’re signing Lindell Wiggington to a 2-way. Never heard of him.

Smart probably getting the boot.

He's been good for the Herd since all the other guards got called up, and has been a good G League player for other teams in the past. Explosive microwave combo type. Not a freak athlete like Lecque but good burst, strong, talented. Liked him at ISU, one of those guys whose play is less than the sum of its parts, you hope he puts it all together.

Solid player at Iowa State. Played under poor coaching at his time there. He was an Oak Hill Academy guy. He was not good as a point guard in college though and had a lot of issues turning the ball over. Much better as a sg. Not sure if that’s changed now though.

It is not right to trade any of the core guys, Brook, Jrue, Middleton, Giannis won, they should have the opportunity to try again

I’ve got a bad feeling about Brooks injury. I don’t think he will ever be the same.

Wondering why we are trying out a bunch of guards? Obviously we have a few out but it still seems like a backup big even in the short term would be nice to search for instead

So what? He has a 10m QO you can't offer him cause he'll just take it, so you're trading for a UFA.

I’m kinda in the same boat. There’s a lot of confidence in here for the potential return of a soon to be 34 year old 7 footer pushing 300 lbs with back issues. Hopefully he can come back and help but if we’re banking on him being what he’s been even as recent as last season we’re setting ourselves up for major disappointment.

Time to think about the present and future. Bamba can give us a shot blocker and rebounder in the present and potentially a more complete game in the future. His and Giannis’ length could be absolutely lethal defensively.

I would consider trading Brook for someone who is healthy this year and for the salary cap relief to make it easier to retain younger players like Portis, Pat, and/or DDV next year. I don't love Bamba but man, a back injury for a guy Brook's size scares me.

I wonder what Portland might be willing to trade for Brook. They might value the chance to tank this year while theoretically still having a solid starting center under contract next year, as opposed to having to overpay Nurkic this summer. I don't love the fit for Nurkic, but he might have value to a 3rd team or something. Nance Jr. still intrigues me but I guess he kind of sucks this year. RoCo makes some sense too. Portland could have a fire-sale on any vets helping them this year who don't have a clear long-term future with the team, tank hard, then trade their pick for veteran help for Dame.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

Which one of those front offices seriously considers blowing up the core as soon as this offseason?

And which of those teams are the Champions?

To use the cliche, a bird in the hand beats two in the bush, or whst ever it is.

Why take a step back now for HOPE in the future. An upgrade on Midds? You need an all NBA player. Same with Jrue.

I certainly don't see Haliburton as a future all NBA player.

I know this is a chat board so everyone throws out ideas for kicks and giggles. I weep for those of you who really believe we need to trade.

Imo, Midds > Jrue for various reasons. I wouldn't trade Midds. I'd be open to trading Jrue only if we can replace him with Haliburton.

Agreed that Haliburton will never become an all-NBA player. That said, he'd be a perfect fit on the Bucks. He can shoot the 3. He can run the PnR. He can defend multiple positions thanks to his size/length. Most importantly, he doesn't need the ball in his hands to maximize his effectiveness. That's a rare trait for a PnR ball handler which would allow him to thrive alongside Giannis. The way I see it, Haliburton is a low-usage, pass-first glue guy. He's playing winning basketball despite his young age. Add Harrison Barnes and Seth Curry in that deal and it arguably makes the Bucks a better team both in the short and the long term.

Image

PG: Haliburton - Hill
SG: Seth - Allen - Matthews
SF: Middleton - Pat - Matthews
PF: Barnes - Bobby
C: Giannis - Bobby - (Brook)

I could see this team being just as good this season as our current team, if not marginally better. Barnes would give us tremendous versatility on both sides of the floor. He can create his own shot. He can create shots for his teammates. He can play on or off the ball. He can defend multiple positions. I'd argue he's a poor man's Middleton. Seth is an elite floor spacer and a reliable facilitator. Giannis would be playing almost exclusively at the 5 come playoff time.

I don't get it why are Jrue and Midds trades are discussed six months after they got a championship. It's not going to happen and it shouldn't. Bucks should be adding to what they currently have instead of exploring different avenues.

Still my favorite trade is McCollum for Brook/Hill/DDV/Hood/Ojeleye. Feel free to add a third team, future 2nds and some garbage from Portland (Snell, Zeller, McLemore, DSJ, Elleby, Brown) heading back to make it work.

Holiday (38)/McCollum (10)
McCollum (28)/Allen (20)
Middleton (38)/Matthews (10)
Giannis (18)/Pat (20)/Nwora (10)
Portis (28)/Giannis (20)

Bucks still keep an awesome Top 9 for the playoffs. Adding another high volume 40% 3p shooter (CJ) in the Giannis at C lineups will be a beauty.

Bucks fans can't stand Middleton's inconsistency. CJ would literally drive this board into world war 3

Mids: Height, Quick release
Jrue: Strength, Anticipation

The games of both of these guys will age well, especially Mids. Other than Jokic, is there another player in the league less reliant on physical quickness/explosiveness?
