MILWAUKEE BUCKS COACHES, HIGHEST WINNING PERCENTAGE, CAREER

    A. Griffin .698
    M. Budenholzer .693
    D. Nelson .611
    L. Costello .608

I'd take in order:

Nelson
Costello
Budenholzer
Griffin

As much as we'd like to think our analysis of Griffin was matched by the front office, I think this came down to the players not buying in. There is no way this happens, for better or worse, unless Giannis and other players were speaking out. I think the same applies to Bud.

Players need to buy in to their coach.

Leaking Doc's name as top "candidate" feels like PR to cushion the blow of the firing.. if we've started this process mid Dec the deal is already done and we are just waiting for Doc to be announced. What are the pros and cons of Doc?

Upon the court, a coach in strife,
Lost in troubles, a troubled life.
Defeats and angst, a heavy load,
His reign of triumph hit the road.

The owners spoke, "It's time to part,
For victories flee, and troubles start."
In sorrow, the coach left behind,
A legacy of a troubled kind.

Enter a doctor, wise and clear,
Not with a ball, but healing ear.
Grief transformed, a brighter day,
The court revived, in a hopeful play.

No longer lost, the coach's plight,
With health restored, and spirits light.
A tale of triumph, a lesson true,
How grief can fade, and dreams renew.

Skillfully done. You've got the ear. Nice.

Remember during timeouts when Giannis would go sit on the scorer's table instead of going to the huddle?

I wonder why no old heads ever got mention for our position like SVG or MDA.. because we're cold weather and they want to golf?

Well, he was won a championship so it is not impossible to win a championship with Rivers

but

Doc Rivers teams have blown three 3-1 leads, four other 3-2 leads, one other 2-0 lead, and have lost Game 7 at home four times (five if you count the bubble)

So it seems opposite coaches get the upper hand as the series progress

Exactly man. I mean, you can't have as many collapses as he has had, but look at what he was coaching. Two of the biggest chokers of all time in CP and Harden, that toxic Simmons situation etc.

Doc is a good coach, he holds people accountable and has the reputation to hold the locker room in place. He's not perfect or an ideal candidate, but miles ahead of Griffin who isn't even qualified to be a coach.

Exactly, Doc's record in close out games is suspect, but you have to remember a lot of those games came with CP3, Simmons, Harden & Embiid as Doc's best players.

If I was making an All-NBA Choke 1st team using players over the past 20 years, those 4 guys would all make my squad.

If Doc puts Giannis & Dame in the same positions to win as he did with CP3, Harden & Embiid. I feel pretty confident the results will be a lot different.

Here's a name: Dave Joerger

Coached with Doc last season, former head coach, and his forte is defense (ya I know it was Griffin's forte too).

Yo, yo, yo, listen up, Bucks fans
You know you need a change of plans
You've been stuck in the same old rut
Losing games and getting cut
You need a coach who can make you shine
Who can bring out the best in your prime
You need a coach who can lead the way
Who can take you to the NBA

You don't need Doc Rivers, he's not the one
He's been there, done that, and he's done
He couldn't handle the Clippers or the Sixers
He's just a quitter and a fixer
He's not the coach who can make you grow
He's not the coach who can make you glow
He's not the coach who can make you win
He's not the coach who can make you grin

You need Kenny Atkinson, he's the man
He's got the vision and the plan
He's the coach who can make you better
He's the coach who can make you wetter
He's the coach who can make you play
He's the coach who can make you slay
He's the coach who can make you fly
He's the coach who can make you high

So, Bucks fans, don't be fools
Don't let Doc Rivers make you his tools
You deserve a coach who can make you proud
You deserve a coach who can make you loud
You deserve Kenny Atkinson, he's the best
He's the coach who can pass the test
He's the coach who can make you champs
He's the coach who can make you dance

Exactly my thoughts too. Could be cope, but it's not like his guys were playoff world beaters without him either. they all have issues themselves

There will come a point, surely we all see this coming, where Doc is going to say we would have won a game or series if Giannis hits his free throws. Then the fireworks will really start.

A great example why I have always been more of an eye test guy than a stat guy....lol.

Although I will say, the fact that the Bucks fired Griffin 43 games into his first season as a head coach with a 30-13 record, makes me think the Bucks FO never wanted Griffin in the first place.

Even though Griffin didn't pass the eye test, not a chance in hell they fire him with a 30-13 record if Griffin was really their guy all along.

Giannis signed the extension, so I guess if you're playing the long game, it all worked out.

 definitely would be funny.

I do think it will be different though, Doc is coming in to coach Champions, guys who have already won it all. I don't think he will rock the boat that much, those other guys he had never won anything.
