It's a shame EA bought them because I feel like the original creators made some smart decisions. Going all in on an arcade feel vs trying to battle more real sims like The Show was smart. All the customization is great and adds a modern feel to a retro design.machu46 wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:Put a few hours into it this weekend, super fun game and the franchise mode with legends League is cool.machu46 wrote:You can always turn the ego or whatever they call it down. I personally only use the power swing until I get my first strike basically but in general I feel like you have to power swing earlier than you think.
Awesome game though.

I ended up turning the ego down to 10 as I learned hitting and I'm up to 20 currently. My pitching is way ahead of my hitting, not sure I ever want full control over fielding so I might have to start adjusting individual ego levels. I'm old and enjoy some edibles before video games so I probably will never get too high on ego, old reflexes probably can't handle it lol.
For $10 I highly recommend.

I can't remember where I ended up with the egos, but I definitely set each aspect individually because like you said, certain parts of my game were far ahead of other parts. It's a really great game; feels like a spiritual successor to the Backyard Baseball series but modernized.
I haven't played it in awhile now, but I had created a league of 30 teams where I fully customized all the logos, stadiums, etc. and got to really immerse myself in the universe I had created.
It's easily surpassed MLB The Show for me as my go-to baseball game. It obviously isn't as realistic but it's simply a lot of fun.
Legends mode is cool, it's a shame Prince Fielder isn't in the game. Also wish the had a HR derby mode.
