Kyrie's also younger than Middleton so I also don't see why people are viewing this as a "win-now" move and just throwing all of our young *healthy* assets onto the trade pyre. It's why I'd value Thon/Brogdon more than the Middleton/Parker combo I'd prefer to deal. Younger and more years locked under cheap contracts.

And I fully understand that Cleveland doesn't consider a deal with us without Middleton but I'm just not giving up Middleton plus assets and taking back crap contracts.
The organization is banking on Jabari being the third wheel in a big three, but that's a massive risk to take by trading away Middleton.

This basically comes down to how you feel about Jabari. If you think he's big 3 material, even after the knee injuries, putting Middleton in the deal is less worrisome. I'm a Middleton fan, but if he's the best asset I'm giving up to get Kyrie Irving then I'm doing that without a doubt.

Right, if you're trading Middleton all you're doing is robbing Peter to pay Paul. AND give up Thon and/or Brogdon? This entire discussion is lunacy.

I'm not dead set against Kyrie, but giving up 3 of the top 7 players in the rotation for him depletes the counter of any tradeable assets. Bringing in Kyrie necessitates other moves but at the risk of having no ammunition to do so. Leaves the Bucks with a legit franchise player, a scoring-only 2nd option, a ticking medical timebomb, pocket lint and me praying that Tacko Fall can save the city by the river and the lake.

If it's Brogdon then I could see the Cavs valuing Delly considering his familiarity with their system.
I think the Bucks would need to keep one of Delly or Brogdon though to stave off Irving's poor defense and chucking tendencies.
If I had to put my house on who will have a better career between Thon and Brogdon, I'm taking Brogdon with no hesitation.
If I told you one of these players becomes an MVP candidate and end up in the Hall of Fame, who would you take?
Are you Bran, now? You the three-eyed Raven?

I'd take that guy for sure. I don't believe Thon Maker is that guy, though.

Okay, I have his entire career on my side. What are you bringing to the argument?
The cold, unflinching lens of Duke fandom.

I'm also cool with the Bucks standing pat, by the way. This is probably the first off season in years where I'm like "Meh. Just roll with what we have for now."

I mean, you don't have his entire career on your side, but ok.
The notion that Kyrie is not a good distributor or can't make others around him better is humorous.
He sucked balls without LeBron on the floor. He’s a good 2nd fiddle though, it’s not worth investing in him for only 2 seasons though. Good news is.. he’s a Celtic. Thank god.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Kyrie played 11 games at Duke because of a toe injury, came back and disrupted a team that had developed great chemistry without him and lost in the tournament, and you think that's why I think he's a good player?

I'm very indifferent. It would be cool to get Kyrie. It would be fine to stand pat.

If you could have him for Middleton, Maker and Brodgon, would you do it?

I know some of you guys would rather have CJ McCollum, though.

I like Middleton, but you can't dismiss his hammy. If we knew we were getting the Middleton we saw for the second half of last season, I would absolutely have no issue including him in a trade for Kyrie.

I'm trying to imagine how horrific our bench would be if we gave up Brog, Mids, Thon and Delly. I don't think I'm capable of imagining something so disgusting.

PG: Kyrie, GP2
SG: Shump, Vaughn, Brown
SF: Snell, Parker
PF: Giannis, Wilson, Mirza
C: Monroe, Henson, Hawes
Maybe that is why they brought in that big list of players to work out today? Sign Burke, Jason Terry with the open roster spots

Let's say the Cavs seriously value Thon...
Maker + Brogdon + Monroe + a protected 1st for Kyrie + Shumpert.
Of course I'd feel much better about a trade if we could keep Middleton. But that's still a ton to give up.
We'd need Giannis to be ready to log some serious center minutes to make it work.
Cleveland also doesn't need all those big men. Monroe's expiring would have to be seriously valued alongside matchup difficulties for the Warriors to make it happen.
Lebron would likely be pissed though considering how perfect of a fit Middleton would be next to him.
