Not opposed to another ring chasing vet guard if he’s not but would be better to have someone with fresh legs.

George Hill is old and gets injured.

But has Bryant ever played PG extensively? He didn't in college or Israel, unless he is a terrible assist-making PG.

Elijah played primarily as an SG and for long stretches as an SF in 3-guard lineups in Maccabi, next to Wilbekin and T. Dorsey. He understands how to run an offence competently in the SL or Euro level, but he lacks the burst and quickness to beat his man or defend the position at the NBA level.

I really don't see it with Bryant, I'll be upset if he makes the team to be honest.

Lavine gets disqualified on the defense end, unless you think he'd be better in our system (and I guess he isn't white?). Who else might qualify?

man, maybe we've already cornered the market. https://www.ranker.com/list/top-white-nba-players-right-now-2018-2019/adam-mackenzie-stewart
Unless Franz Wagner qualifies as athletic.

Caruso is the other one. However, I think we just like bouncy guards that can defend and shoot a little.

I don't get all the Bryant hate all of a sudden? He can shoot, finish at the rim, handle the ball, and defend. Perfect fit for our system.

He hasn't done against actual NBA players in meaningful NBA games. He played ONE regular season game, the last game against the scrub Bulls (1-5 from 3) and he played garbage time playoff minutes, shooting 7-20. instead of asking "why the hate" I'd ask "why the love". He has potential but so does every NBA end of the bench guy.

Bryant is just a guy wouldn't even say he has much potential he'll be the first guy on the chopping block when something better comes around.

I mean he did get actual real game minutes in the Brooklyn series which I still find interesting and tells me he had to have shown atleast something in practice for him to get those minutes after only being on the team a few weeks

I think Bryant is fine as the 15th ngd guy on the end of the bench that you cut mid season for a buyout.

All of what you said is true, except the part about "all end of the bench guys have potential". There's tons of hopeless scrubs and washed up corpses in the league. I think Bryant is better than that. Now, would I replace him with someone better? Sure, but let's not pretend that a player of that caliber is abundantly available.

We know now we only need 8 players in the rotation during the playoffs. I don't care about the 10 to 15 guys as long as 8 of the first 9 are healthy when it matters.
I'd rather have some young guys who might still improve (hopefully a lot) in stead of 'proven' vets, who were never good enough and never will.

Hopefully he settles in after an offseason here because his overseas numbers were great but he didn't demonstrate much of any of those attributes on the court with the Bucks.

Was there any reason given why Bryant isn't playing summer league?

Meh, Thanasis. I obviously understand why they signed him, doesn't mean I have to like it.

He's on the bench, with what looks like a big cast on his hand.

There is going to be a lot of garbage time this season. Nwora firing at will, and Thanasis trying to dunk everything is entertaining. Not to mention Thanasis seems to be a hard working guy who embraces his role. Glad he's back.
