Dunn was a scrapheap guy not long ago. Surely there's a rehab project out there like Dunn we can invest in. Jarrett Culver, TJ Warren, Winslow, Ish Wainwright etc. Are none of this guys worth a look? I'd be wary about giving up too much for Dunn. The defence is tempting but he can't really play on the other side of the ball.

Exum was that guy not too long ago too

Ron Swanson wrote:Wiggins or Kuzma tracks based on what we can piece together. Don't think there's any sort of market for either of those guys' contracts, especially not with the new luxury tax restrictions about to kick in. We're probably one of the few teams that doesn't care about footing a big tax bill for the next 1-2 years (nor should we). Just don't think it's a good idea to bet on a guy like Wiggins magically re-discovering his motivation. Kuzma I'm torn on. If you squint you can see the perfect "Aaron Gordon in Denver" role-player if he buys in, but he just seems like another guy content to put up 20+ on a bad team and coast since he got his championship ring.

That's a good comparison. I just thought SF version of Jrue.

I would be trying for Wiggins if I were Philly. If there is a way to trade Tobias for Wiggins I'd do it. Get the Kansas duo back together.

Acquiring Wiggins will be representative of "The End" for this iteration of the Bucks for me. That's a dark future

Giannis and Dame don't "fit" together either, neither did Dame and McCollum so I don't see any reason why it couldn't work. Simply its about stealing value and upgrading talent whenever possible, Bucks core is too old unathletic overpaid and with far fewer sands in the hourglass than we all hoped for. Murray is a former all star PG in his prime, locked up on a fair contract, its such a no brainer. This team needs TALENT not just some rando defensive swingman, the team isn't that close and needs to focus on the future. I don't think Murray lessens our chances this year at all and he definitely is better going forward. Its just such a no brainer, its crazy people will talk themselves into Grant Williams who isn't even a starter in this league or all time low IQ no motor guys like Andrew Wiggins over a legitimate allstar player like Murray.

I agree, we need youth and talent. Murray brings both. In addition, this is likely the last opportunity we’ll have for the foreseeable future to aggregate salaries in a trade, so if we can pick up that type of salary slot, it could be helpful in the future. If the fit doesn’t work, fix the roster any number of ways in the off-season.

Mavs get: Portis, Jevon Carter, Bucks 2027 2nd
Bulls get: Grant Williams, Marjon Beauchamp, Dallas 2026 1st
Bucks get: Caruso, Dwight Powell

Bulls dump Carter, who has been terrible, and Mavs dump 2 of their many bad contracts. Bucks get their guy, the premier PoA defender, who also gives them another passer. Powell isn't good, but better than RoLo

This is a good point. I wonder how that affects the calculus on acquiring a guy like Wiggins. If you cannot aggregate salaries via trade, having big salary slots could be a form of trade flexibility for cap hell teams in the near future. Doesn't make his contract any less terrible, just thinking out loud.

The last hour or so of the deadline might get bananas. Lots of teams are going to be waiting until the last second to see what they can pry out of a contender. Hopefully they have to settle for whatever we can offer.

Today is the last day of my first week back from vacation... So we got a very special edition of **** it Friday converging with the most anticipated trade deadline in quite some time.

Straight up, i might just order in a pizza for lunch and it might be the most effort i exert all day.

I hope the Bucks don't do the Wiggins deal, but if they do, it has to include Saric and Lester Quinones. Quinones is only on a 2 way, but he's a versatile NBA caliber combo guard.
