Bulls have zero reason to do that. They're well under the cap next year and wide open the next year. They'd be stupid to give up a lottery pick.

Way too optimistic off season:

Kuzma for Porzingas saves Boston 8.2 million off cap this year, plus tax savings. Not sure how close that brings them to second apron threshold, but given their salary situation, Porzingas injuries, and need for big forward with Tatum down, they may be mildly interested in something like this.

Portis (opts in) for Austin Reaves. Really tough sell for LAL. They need a big but Portis not an ideal fit. He can spread the court though. Would consider 31 pick here, especially if we got some minor additional asset back.

AJ Jackson for Jay Huff.

Resign KPJ, Trent, Sims, and Rollins.

KPJ - Rollins
Reaves - Green
Trent - Green
Giannis - Porzingas
Porzingas - Huff - Sims

Obviously, incredibly unlikely. Would be nice to have some of those Jay Crowder picks to move around in deals like this. Could maybe get creative and do a sign and trade of Brook for some LAL junk as an additional incentive? Maybe they REALLY want to get off of Vanderbilt’s long deal and we give them Pat’s expiring? Dunno.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Chicago gets out of Williams deal, Bucks bank on the change of scenario and playing along side Giannis to get the most out of him. Carter bridges the gap until Dame is back.

Except for one magical season with the Bucks, what has Carter ever done that makes him a guy who could bridge any gap as a reliable rotational player. He played 9 mpg last year and only 14 mpg the year before on bad bulls teams that gave him a decent size contract. I have to imagine there are 25 guys out there that will be better than him on the vet min.

Carter is an off ball PG that can hit threes and defend at the point of attack. Plus expiring, seems like a no brainer to me on this team.

Bucks fans wanting old Bucks players is classic. Maybe we can trade and get Tobes back.

Again, I'm going with the bolded one. Giannis and many on this board feel differently than me.

Horst's job is to sell the superstar on staying. If that's the teams goal, Why shouldn't I expect him to come up with something better than "we may have an opportunity to be good when you're 32"?

It's extremely easy to come up with that pitch. Here it is: we're leaning into what worked and we're going to be right there as long as you're healthy. Here's the tape of the thing that worked. Look how well it works. It's going to continue to work because the type of player we need is exactly the type of player we've never had trouble recruiting. You're going to be surrounded by hungry, fearless dudes who can shoot the living **** out of the ball. We're going to have fun, we're going to be a new kind of team, and the league is going to be jealous of us again.

And then Horst will construct a team that has this starting lineup: Sexton, Kuz, Collins, Giannis, Portis…

If this is the group and Green, Rollins, KPJ and/or GTJ are on the roster then we've actually done ok. This we can sell.

My fear is that the roster going to look much, much worse than this.

I really liked Williams as a prospect and think he is worth the risk, Carter fills a one year need and obviously the late lotto pick is the real pay off, even if it was a future first it gives us some tradeable assets.

Also, it's weird we spent all season saying this team needs to get younger and more athletic then I hear we should trade for Collins, KD, Horford, Kevin Love, DeRozan, Jrue, etc.

I'd posit that it's even weirder how 4-5 years later and we're still pining for past "board favorites" like Collin Sexton and John Collins, despite the fact that these dudes are in years 8 and 9 respectively. At least with some of these former Bucks, the rationale is taking on their bad money for assets. I have no clue why we're talking ourselves into letting Ainge bend us over a barrel for the Utah players that nobody wants.

Prospect of dumping Dame for players with a pulse is enticing on the face of it.

Of course the rub is whether we’d need to deal a serious pick or prospect for the privilege. That’s where I’m most interested if we could take on unwanted salary as the value proposition instead.

But if only due to the Danny Ainge factor your point is a fair one.

They might do it to get off of one of the worst contracts in the league.

The Bulls have done a horrible job of a rebuild. Signing over the hill veterans, then compoundinhg it with the recent William's contract.

Then, when they had a chance to move up in the draft this season, they went all out to win meaningless games, while their opponents were tanking. The Chicago radio guys were going nuts after each Bull's victory.

To be fair, though, the Bulls have one of the better coaches in the league and he coaches to win.

why the hell would the wizards do that???

Then don't do the deal w/ them. Why the hell would we trade 3 better assets for a lesser one - 1 of the worst deals in franchise history?

I'm not sure why I'm arguing this but Carter has been horrible from 3 the past 2 years shooting a combined sub-.333. And while he's a good on ball defender, the dude is a 6'1" SG witha poor defensive rating. He's a borderline NBA player who had a great season for the Bucks that made him appear to be a rotational guy.

We've reduced ourselves to debating Jevon **** Carter. It's going to be a long offseason. It already has been.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Celtics get: Kuzma
Celtics trade: Holiday/28
Huge Tax savings – Get out of the last year of Holiday deal, plus when Tatum is ready, Kuzma expiring contract is easier to move than Holiday.

Bucks get: Holiday/Collins/Clarkson
Bucks trade: Lilliard / 2031 unprotected 1st
Bucks take on Holiday contract, get two useful pieces, trade away an unprotected 1st for Jazz taking Lillard

Jazz get: Lillard/Patrick Williams/2027 Bulls 1st and 2031 Bucks 1st
Jazz trade: Collins/Sexton/Clarkson
Get draft picks for taking on Lillard and Williams

Bulls get: Sexton
Bulls trade: Wiliams/2027 1st
Get out of williams contact

Only one I’m iffy about is the Jazz.

Will be interesting on this board if the Bucks bring back Brook and Bobby.

Mke out: Dame, Pat, ‘26 swap ‘31 1st, ‘30 swap
Mke in: Lauri, Isaiah Joe

Okc out: 15, 24, Joe
Okc in: Pat, ‘31st, ‘26 swap

Uta out: Lauri
Uta in: 15, 24, ‘30 swap

Why for us?
We get a core piece, and a two-way knock down shooter. We also slightly cut salary which should make it easier to stay under the tax and certainly the 1st apron.

Why for okc?
They are almost guaranteed to be a 2nd apron team in 27, and Joe is their 9th man getting paid almost MLE money. They get off the longer contract. In addition, their roster is just about full, and they don’t have that many assets in the distant future. Here, they get a valuable future unprotected 1st and a swap next year.

Minny traded their 2031 1st and 2030 swap for #8 last year. Recently, 15+20 has netted 10. So, 15+24 is slightly short on value for what we’re offering up, hence the Joe addition.

Why for Utah?
They get two firsts and a swap for Lauri. If they’d prefer the ‘32 swap instead of a swap of a swap, then so be it. They are 100% tanking next year, since they don’t own their 1st unless they suck. So, they get additional young talent to help with their rebuild.

Carter is the tertiary part of the deal, why get hung up on that given Dame might be out all year?
