He is an atrocious shooter and a turnover machine. Just say no.

Is this just a guess or have you heard something?

Just whispers at this point but yes I have heard they are in "exploratory talks" How in depth these talks have got I have no idea. They are interested, just don't know if we have enough. It would be Ersan, Leuer, Donte, two first round picks and a 2nd as a starting point...

Huh... interesting. I wonder if they would then move Bledsoe to another team or if they plan on playing them both in the back court. A Bledsoe/Westbrook pairing doesn't sound very good lol.

I hope you're happy. Now instead of talking about a player we actually acquired, we get to talk about Russell f'ing Westbrook for the next 20 pages!

I can. Bledsoe. All of you that are so worried about his salary, that ship sailed when we basically maxed Middleton. Sit back and enjoy the luxury tax ride now, its time to win a championship. Remember its Milwaukee so we will take who we can get when it comes to star players. I'm assuming Horst has done his homework and if Westbrook is the best we can get lets go for it. Better than standing pat and getting swept by the Clippers.

Lmao I swear some of you don’t even bother looking at statistics let alone watching games. Westbrook is atrocious

Come on man. He takes lots of shots b/c the rest of his team minus Paul George sucks. Shooting isn't his forte and again I can think of better fits too but If he had Bud as a coach he would average over 12 assists per game and we would have a distributor that is twice as good as Bledsoe and twice as good at rebounds.

If this was a one or two year thing where his team was ass and he had to shoot a ton to compensate then I’d give it to you, but it’s not. He’s done this his entire career. He’s a chucker who nobody wants to play with (Durant and now George). He is a way worse playoff performer than even Bledsoe is.

I'm going to reach out to some peeps re: Bucks/Westbrook. I'll let you guys know if I hear back. The basketball fan in me can't help but wonder what it would be like to have two recent MVPs. It's a different era, but Giannis/Westbrook could maybe possibly be our LeBron/Wade.

I think Westbrook on the Bucks would be a bad idea, completely contrary to many of Bud's Schematic goals and principles.

Of course I also would tune in or DVR every single game.

It would be an insane gamble. That contract and also the kind of thing where if it doesn't work on the court could easily end up driving Giannis away. Even if it were possible, I just can't see how it's a good idea.

How would they clear enough space to sign Hill then? I can't imagine Hill is fine waiting until September to sign his contract

Nah

I'm a fan of brevity :)

I get the concerns about Westbrook teaming with Giannis and the potential spacing shooting problems, but that's why Bud makes the big bucks.

I'm assuming the chemistry thing would be fine. Huge assumption, but still. If Westbrook doesn't work out, trade him for -- let me check the Trade Machine and HOLY ****, WESTBROOK MAKES HOW MUCH??!!

Bledsoe would be part of the trade package for sure.

I'm intrigued by the gamble. Not the best fit, but there's no denying that Westbrook is a bonafide "second star". It's not like he's incapable of winning - they were up 3-1 on the 73 win Warriors, and I believe Durant choked away that series more than anyone else. The sheer athleticism and power of a Giannis/Russ pairing would be overwhelming for almost every team in the NBA.

However if the gamble does not pay off, you almost certainly lose Giannis, IMO. Russ is already on a Supermax which would only get harder to move as he gets older (a la Chris Paul). At the end of the day, I don't know where I land on this one. I could be talked into either side of it.

You would need shooters at the other 3 spots at all times. Think of it this way, Russ/Adams PnRs are a staple for them and they work even though they can't shoot. OKCs mistake has always been having a bad shooting wing like Roberson/Sefolosha. A Russ/Giannis PnR should then work and maybe we'll finally see the Giannis dive man Deandre Jordan on steroids version that we're yet to see where he's just dunking 5 alley oops a game. Plus the fast breaks would be insane. As you said though, it would take some flex from Bud to actually use the PnR way more as he really didn't increase it as much with Bled as I hoped/expected.

To someone who asked about Bled/Russ together. I can't imagine Bled wouldn't be going back in that trade. I know it can't be executed now but I'm sure they can agree to it and do it later type of thing.

Still, this is far from ideal and I think I pass on it. I could see scenarios of how it could work but I just don't think it's worth the risk, let someone like the Knicks blow their whole future on him. Sure would be exciting though. As much as I see all the faults in RW and roll my eyes a lot on some of his decisions I've always enjoyed watching him play and how hard he plays. I guess one other positive, RW did seem very content to take a backseat to PG this year and be more of a distributor type, shoot less 3s, etc. To somewhat play smarter than he has in the past, while still obviously lots of room to play smarter. But, come late season and playoffs it seemed he resorted to his old self.

I would pursue Westbrook. Especially if you could get him for a value asking price.

We have very few ways of getting stars to come to MKE. I would trust Bud to get the absolute best out of Westbrook. Imagine the pressure it would take off Giannis.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

I still have a hard time believing this Westbrook stuff. In order to sign hill to the contract that was reported we need to trade/stretch one of Leuer or Ersan. So how are we now going to clear that cap space to sign Hill? Something isn't adding up

Hopefully the Bucks are looking into a Westbrook trade as in helping facilitate it, not actually take Westbrook. Maybe with HOU. Go get Gordon!

I'd rather get Gallo in here than Westbrook, who might be my all-time least favorite superstar. I appreciate the tenacity he plays with, but I can't imagine a worse sidekick for Giannis. Bad-shooting, ball-hogging stat whore who hasn't shot better than 40% from the field in three straight postseasons.

Oh, and he's also now on the wrong side of 30 and is due $80M over the next two years.

Westbrook is a terrible shooter and an extremely overrated scorer. He puts up 24+ on abysmal efficiency

Bucks ownership was sniffing around on Westbrook a couple years back when OKC was questioning what to do with him in 2016 after Durant left.

Does that mean they're doing anything here? No. But, LED like to get in on every superstar that comes up.
