I think the Badgers can safely dribble out the clock.

I'm unable to watch. Does the defense look good or is Maryland just crapping themselves?

Easy game if you make every shot huh.

Maryland is actually a program to watch the next few years for the fire gard camp or the general' being good but not great' isn't enough camp. Pushed out a consistently winning coach for not living up to their past Nat title level history. 7-13 during the fire year, rebound last year to normal good/fine 11-9 level, 7-13 season this year. We'll see how it goes from here. And they're in prime recruiting area, flush with UA money to compete in the new world, rich rich bball history beyond ours.

Wouldn't say there is much to note about D today one way or the other. UW has just shot the lights out and demoralized MD, like how can we win if they make basically every 3.

This. Like that Bucks game against the Warriors.

Maryland stopped trying long ago.

Love to see it.

The back injury and Gard destroying the kid with his quick hooks and sporadic PT killed this kid this season. The badgers have so many terrible perimeter/wing players doing nothing on the offensive and defensive ends that it makes no sense they didn't try to re-establish him as a scorer. AJ Storr is a big reason behind this. The guy is a black hole with the ball. Bo Ryan would have ran this kid out of the gym until he got it. Gard has tried to bench him briefly, after ballhoggery, but it just keeps going and going.

Essegian has been a bad shooter since the second half of last season. I really have no clue if he recovers the stroke. Could happen. Still think he leaves provided Klesmax, Chuckie, Kamari and Freitag are there. Just not enough minutes for him.

If Bo Ryan would go hard-ass on Storrs, he'd send Essegian to the damn gulag. If Gard ruined his confidence, Bo would have rattled the core of his humanity.

I do agree on in-state talent retention. Ryan wasn't awesome on it but did keep Dekker and Keonig. If/when Gard goes, that has to change. Gard did keep 5 star in-state freshman Augustus "Gus" Yalden, so you gotta give him credit.

I think Gard has been evolving each year the past 2-3 years but it's maybe too slow. For the first 5 years that transfers kind of were a thing, he'd only go if he had a glaring hole in the rotation (Potter as the 6th man/basically starter or Klesmit to fill Davis/Davison's void (wasn't enough)).

Now he went after Storr and almost grabbed Reynolds with a relatively set lineup of upperclassmen.

Next is to realize that post-2020, there is no reason to keep somebody like Hodges or Gilmore on your roster and I'd probably give Gus the boot. Throw a dart at an unheralded recruit or gamble on a transfer. If it hurts your depth if you grab an even worse bust as your 8th/9th man, whatever.

As much as Gilmore is mocked, if this was 2012, it might be improtant to develop a guy over 3-4 years to have solid depth vs. some team that has gambled and struck out on transfers and has a bunch of holes on their roster. Nobody has those depth problems anymore.

Honestly, Essegian is kind of on this cut line. I'd probably keep him around if he claims he wants to because that 40% 3P shooter might still be in there somewhere, but otherwise he probably can't really cut it at the B10 level consistently.

Offense is lost without Chucky. Also I miss the game where we make every 3.

Same refs here as the Bucks game last night? Just letting everything go both ways. Probably hurt UW more due to way more driving and attempts at the hoop that haven't fallen because of it. Give credit for Storr attacking over and over, keep that up to finish the year and hopefully will have better results than the last 5 weeks or so. Only tried 1 open 3 early on, other 3 attempt was one he had to throw up due to shot clock

Other than that little run Wahl had in the early portion of a few seasons, obviously he has not ever been a superstar, but my, "Wahl is important, might be hard to replace" meter has gone down with each passing month the past few years. Just kind of existing again today.

refs just remembered that they have to have some type of impact on this game. starting to call everything now. that wahl foul on that shot was non-existent. he didn't even touch him.
