Are coaches that get fired midseason ever replaced midseason by a permanent new hire?

Feel like teams always roll with the interim until the offseason.

Just waiting for the inside scoop about what was going on behind the scenes with the Bucks to leak in some feature-length article from Shams or Woj.

Little tidbit, but the Bucks all-access videos were very open and in-depth the last few years, but this year you basically see nothing behind the scenes and they're a huge waste of your time, just shows clips of games with interviews. Could be speaking on things being pretty bad behind the scenes all season long.

We knew that was probably the case when the whole stotts thing happened. Just a bad sign from the beginning . Glad they had the balls to make the change

I mean if we're being honest, you can't put Mazzulla, Bickerstaff, Mosley, Vaughn, Monty, Clifford, Unseld, Donovan, and Darko above Doc based on anything other than personal bias. Certainly can't put them above based on anything they've actually accomplished as HC's. And that's more than half the coaches in the Conference. The problem of course is that only 3 of those of guys are gonna likely be dudes you run up against in the playoffs.

Dame Time is such a contrast to the historic choke artists Doc has dealt with.

I know Doc doesn't seem popular, but it seems like the level of competency jumps dramatically even with Doc. Again what are the cons of Doc? I know he's been somewhat maligned, but as was pointed out, he has won a championship. Biggest thing for me is if he would have the players respect

Griffin fired!-Prunty interim

Honestly, as much as I’m not a fan of Doc, I do think the hate he gets is a bit excessive. I actually think some of those Clippers teams overachieved and he inherited absolute mess in Philly.

If Doc coached the Bucks, it would almost be like the basketball Gods felt so bad about giving Doc so many chokers, that they made it up to him by giving him two of the most anti-chokers in the league in Giannis a Dame.

not a glowing article
https://deadspin.com/doc-rivers-milwaukee-bucks-giannis-dame-lillard-griffin-1851190847

Rivers’ career has hit rough patches, potholes and he’s driven at least three franchises off the cliff, but Rivers’ agent always finds a way to damage organizations from within. Rivers has more lives than Jason Vorhees.

It’s also jarring to witness Philadelphia’s more cohesive offensive unit since losing Harden and Rivers. His rotations, the execution and outdated offensive philosophy have been found wanting in recent years. The league has evolved since Rivers’ crowning achievement in 2008 with the Boston Celtics, but he hasn’t caught up to the times. Nurse overhauled the Sixers offense to resemble the Denver Nuggets’, Harden was shipped to the Clippers, and ran more of their offense through Embiid and sailed through the East.

Philadelphia’s free-flowing offense highlights just how much potential Rivers’ Sixer squads squandered. Rivers is really the Bucks’ only option. He has them cornered unless the they decide to ride with veteran assistant Joe Prunty for the duration of the season. Then again, if they wanna drudge up the fossils of a retread, maybe they should look to Mike Budenholzer.
