Amnesty
if we Amnesty Gooden, who is making 7$M
and another team signs him to a contract
and pays him 4$M
then the Bucks only pay 3$M, to Gooden

is that how the Amnesty works ?

With Gasol going to Golden State, that takes them out of the Bogut running. And takes Houston out of the Gasol derby. And takes LA out of the Dwight derby.

So it looks like Morey and Hammond are still sitting at the dance to talk about Bogut. 8-)

Yes
Yes that is how the Amnesty
works
The team singing him
Has to sign hi
m to the same length cont
ract so he probably won't
be signed by some team for $4M
but the Bucks could probably get some sort of savings for
him

1. I don't expect Kohl to just flush ~$18 million to amnesty Gooden.
2. I think the people who really believe Beno will walk and pass up $7.5 million are being a little unrealistic. I understand he wants to play more... but he may not make $7.5 million in the next two years of whatever contract he gets after leaving Milwaukee.

Exactly. Given his age and his play in Milwaukee, he may not get more than a 2 year, $6M deal from someone to be a backup. He's a guy that won't age well given his lack of foot speed on D.

Look at what Zeusnour got after a very good year during the FTD season (4 years, $16M).

If even you don't rate Ersan you'd have to agree that him getting traded would be the straw that broke this win-now camel's back. I'm doing that Orlando deal and preying that the Minny forwards get significant minutes to kill the team.

Please tell me I didn't just read that we are going to dilute the value of our best trade asset because we are demanding the team also take a guy who will be a **** expiring in a month and a half. **** this **** organization. A child could run it better.

You don't want the team to force itself to take back massive salary in a Bogut trade? You sir are a pessimist.

Wut?

Are you referring to the Bucks asking to take out Jackson and his $10.2mm for next year? If so, yes I agree that I wouldn't dilute the Bogut trade value that way.

Yes, referring to the Stein quote regarding Jax going out with Bogut. If that is true, I don't even know where to start...

Bogut, Harris, Gooden, and Jackson for McGee, Blatche, Lewis, and an unprotected 2012 1st.

I'm actually really surprised by the positive tone of this thread. Obviously it's a sound idea to trade Bogut to start a legit rebuild but Hammond isn't doing that. The obvious move is to showcase him a week at the end of the season and rehab his value this is a panic win now move. If this goes down it's not going to be some deal for a young stud it's going to be a Kaman/Ariza cluster ****.

Most people realize that... which is why a lot of people agree deals like Bogut + Jax for Martin + Dalembert is what we should be expecting. (Which would also be a disaster)

But when trade talks come up, people like to speculate on the good things that could possibly happen.

If it is something like that, Hammond will get ripped more than he's ever been ripped before, and that is saying something. If we trade Bogut and it isn't for picks or LEGIT young talent I will be pissed as Ive ever been at this organization.

Considering people are saying "the price is high," we are selling him for his max value (for now), which is the right move. Making him and Jax a package will come back and bite them though. They need to make sure they get everyone they can for Bogut, they can always amnesty Jackson later.

Well actually the trade will be Kaman and their Minny pick for Bogut.

Look at it this way, I can't control what Herb Kohl wants to do. We'd all have much better rebuilding ideas. But I think the fan base on this board has reached the breaking point and simply wants something done. Thus we are excited something might be done. It's not going to work anyways unless they did a proper rebuild, which they likely aren't doing.

Until then, I'll watch the Caveman and think about whether to take Austin Rivers with that 14th pick.
