Not really, no. The zinc is just so unnecessary and ugly to me.

Put me in the club that's fairly underwhelmed by it all. At this point, I was hoping for a more concrete rendering of the outdoor plaza and development, curious to see how they were going to integrate it into the facility, I was also hoping for more shots of the inside of the place because the building's appearance from the outside will only go so far in terms of making the place a success.

It's not like a football or baseball stadium; you're only going to give a crap about the structure of a basketball facility when you're exiting and entering. I'm willing to sacrifice ambition with the exterior design and instead invest in functionality - skywalks, shopping and restaurant options surrounding the public plaza, functionality for the plaza during the offseason, etc.

Golden 1 put their name on the Sacramento arena less than a year after groundbreaking so i'd say by winter is a good guess for now.

Thanks for the response. We should start placing bets on who we think will pony up the money for the rights!

I'm going with Harley Davidson.

I just remembered that the Warriors already having naming rights to their San Francisco arena as it will be called Chase Center and they won't break ground on that for another year.

Harley's earnings are 3/4 of BMOHarris, I'd be surprised if they would even be interested

Some pictures taken yesterday. They aren't the greatest quality, but I'll have more coming that should be slightly better.

If our moderators are open to it, I could start a separate "Construction Photo" thread and continue posting more of these there? Let me know, fellas.

Hell yeah. A new thread on construction is perfect.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Looks like it may have been taken from the parking structure on the corner of 4th and Juneau?

edit-looking more at the pics, maybe not quite. But obviously facing west. Maybe from aloft?

That's the only place it could be. You can see the National Hardware sign on 4th St. and the only building in the area where you could get a picture at that angle would be the Aloft.

Edit: And that first building with all the green signage has to be the Associated Bank which is kitty-corner from the Aloft, just like in that first picture.

I don't know if this has been posted yet (I looked, but couldn't find it so I'm guessing not), but here is the Planning Commission's zoning page for the arena which includes detailed drawings of the development. Pretty interesting to look through. http://city.milwaukee.gov/CityPlanCommissionCPC/ArenaZoning.htm#.VvqojmOrayo
