It's not like he's incapable of winning - they were up 3-1 on the 73 win Warriors, and I believe Durant choked away that series more than anyone else. The sheer athleticism and power of a Giannis/Russ pairing would be overwhelming for almost every team in the NBA.

However if the gamble does not pay off, you almost certainly lose Giannis, IMO. Russ is already on a Supermax which would only get harder to move as he gets older (a la Chris Paul). At the end of the day, I don't know where I land on this one. I could be talked into either side of it.

I mean yes, KD choked bad, but Russ didn't help shooting >25 shots/gm at 37% in the last three losses (and over 6 threes at 26%). And the guy hasn't made it to the second round since KD left, with two of those opportunities playing alongside Paul George, and once losing w/ home-court.

Yeah and now KD leaves GSW and its because him and Steve Kerr didnt get along. So it was all Westbrook in OKC or is KD kind of a bitch? Im gonna say KD is kind of a bitch.

Does that mean they're doing anything here? No. But, LED like to get in on every superstar that comes up.

Exactly and they ultimately backed off because they didn't think he was worth the one year rental, as he wouldn't agree to a contract extension with the Bucks.

DingleJerry wrote:I guess one other positive, RW did seem very content to take a backseat to PG this year and be more of a distributor type, shoot less 3s, etc. To somewhat play smarter than he has in the past, while still obviously lots of room to play smarter. But, come late season and playoffs it seemed he resorted to his old self.

His usg dropped noticeably during the season and PO's but he was up 1.5 3PA/gm from the first year w/ PG and took even more per game in the playoffs (5.6 reg season vs. 6.8 PO's). That's a lot of attempts for a bad shooter.

I think it's likely that KD is kind of a bitch but even if that is true...Westbrook can still be an ****.

Which is good because so far I feel Horst hasn't made many shrewd moves. Just an example OKC traded expiring Serge Ibaka for Oladipo & #11 which became Sabonis. They ended up trading exactly that for an expiring PG. They got PG to reaign and even though it ended up not working out they get 5 FRPs, a very good prospect in SGA and a decent player in Gallo back. All that for an expiring Serge Ibaka. Should have just traded Middleton.

When Westrbook was in "attack and distribute" mode, and he focused on either scoring in the paint or dishing it off, he was a force of nature. But with all the knee injuries he's had, he can't do that at a high level anymore.

And for all the talk of his "competitive nature" he's a lazy bastard on defense.

No thanks

Supreme Rucksack?
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Just wondering, and not trying to be a di*k, but are you hearing these rumors from the same "source" who had Middleton "as good as gone"? Because if so, I'm not sure I buy that your guy is particularly plugged in.

I believe we’ve gotten worse with our transactions; time will tell.

Only Westbrook trade I’m interested in is if Portland wants him and inexplicably doesn’t want Dame anymore and OKC even more inexplicably doesn’t want him either. There’s your 6’3 Durant

Not an 'either or' scenario though. Westbrook is an idiot, that looks and acts like he is one of the hardest people in the NBA to get along with.

This is what should stop anyone who honestly expects the Bucks to get Westbrook. They don't have the contracts to trade for him. Ersan and Leuer alone means you still have $25 million of contracts to come up with, which the Bucks don't have available until December 25. Don't think the Thunder wait that long, and the Bucks would be foolish to make that trade anyways.
