All that said, Kayte Christensen out in Sacramento is the gold standard, IMO. Super knowledgeable, and doesn't have the ESPN attitude that most of us can't stand.

No, PP. Just no. She is really bad. It's a combination of her voice and too many mistakes. They can do so much better.

Saying there are a lot of bad local announcers out there (true) doesn't make Lisa good. She's not. She's worse now that they sit up at suite level instead of courtside for home games. She misses too much. Early in the season I thought maybe she got better. But it was just she'd been off the air for a few months. Hope she moves on after the season.

I like Lisa quite a bit, taking over for Jim is a hard task and I think she's done a good job

They have a little booth at suite level. The radio guys were moved off courtside a few years ago.

Who remembers the days when Garry Howard would take up a courtside seat just to watch the game and Tom Enlund would fall asleep before tipoff?

Completely forgot about that. Was an amazing grift.

Somebody with a connection to Milwaukee or at least someone a similar age that could build some chemistry with Marques

Marques turns 67 next month. I hope he sticks around for awhile.

I haven't minded Lisa for the most part, but that second game against Washington, was all just Lisa and Marques just spewing crap for a couple of hours, with little regard for the actual play most of the time. It's the first time that i really noticed just how offputting the broadcast can be if you don't get it right.

The final straw for me to switch it over to the Washington broadcasters was them missing an entire play where we lost possession in the backcourt, because they were chatting about something not related to the game at hand, and then wondering why we're not down in the half court on O (on top of the fact that the Bally Sports camera operators didn't catch the actual play, and without the commentators picking it up, we are left clueless as to what actually happened).

Such a shame what happened to 1250. 97.3 is unlistenable.

Speaking of - I really enjoy Bart Winkler's pod that he has put together since the end of 1250. It's fairly light hearted and entertaining. Although I think the appeal of the podcast is (obviously) directly linked to whether you liked Bart to begin with.

He has said on the show that doing an hour podcast is easier than having to fill 4-hours on a morning show, and as someone who would only listen for maybe 30-45 minutes I enjoy this format much more. I have no idea how sustainable this is for him, but he got to 100-episodes last week

Good call - gonna check that out right now actually

EDIT: I enjoyed it! Bart's comedy as always.

I went back a few pages and struggled to find Cutting Cord thread, so will toss this here.

I have Directv Stream which carries Bally’s but they jumped up to $105/month and kicking around dropping it. It is our most expensive streaming and kids watch everything else we have. Live TV platform is our least watched and most expensive. There is so much content on the platforms, but my hesitation like anything is sports. If I drop DTV Stream, I assume I will not be able to watch non-ABC NBA playoff games (have an OTA antenna)? I assume to get ESPN (even if have Plus) would need a cable provider log-in, same with TNT. That is probably my biggest hang-up, NBA/NHL playoffs and to lesser extent March Madness non CBS games.

Fubo TV just added Bally Sports so assuming you are in market, that's probably the way to go. However, Its unclear on the website how much that increases the cost.

I've used Fubo on and off for the last couple years (usually get it every fall). Its a little pricey but the product is really good.

I have YouTube TV at $65/month (they don't tack on all sorts of nonsense fees, other than regular tax, so it is $68.56 out of pocket). It is absolutely fantastic and the best TV service experience I have ever had. Love the unlimited cloud DVR. Tradeoff is things can only stay on your DVR for 9 months. But works seamlessly across all my devices (Roku, Chromecast with Google TV, laptops, phones). Great for all the national stuff (ABC, ESPN, TNT, NBATV). Was perfect when it also had Fox Sports Wisconsin. I'm still pissed at Sinclair/Bally's over that situation. But now I also have Bally Sports+ at $19.99 ($21.09 after tax) per month. Unfortunately their app is an absolute dumpster fire.

Interesting.... I'm just reading some stuff online and it appears fubo got added to Amazon's Freevee service, which I'd never heard of. But it's apparently included with Prime.

If Bally's can be had thru Fubo and Fubo can be had through Prime, by transitive property would Prime net you Bally's??

Gotta look into this more

EDIT: nevermind, apparently Fubo sports network and fubo.tv are not the same. The former is what's been added to Prime

Filing bankruptcy doesn't mean they are out of business. Eventually they most likely will be but you can operate while in bankruptcy.
