Rivers’ career has hit rough patches, potholes and he’s driven at least three franchises off the cliff, but Rivers’ agent always finds a way to damage organizations from within. Rivers has more lives than Jason Vorhees.

It’s also jarring to witness Philadelphia’s more cohesive offensive unit since losing Harden and Rivers. His rotations, the execution and outdated offensive philosophy have been found wanting in recent years. The league has evolved since Rivers’ crowning achievement in 2008 with the Boston Celtics, but he hasn’t caught up to the times. Nurse overhauled the Sixers offense to resemble the Denver Nuggets’, Harden was shipped to the Clippers, and ran more of their offense through Embiid and sailed through the East.

Philadelphia’s free-flowing offense highlights just how much potential Rivers’ Sixer squads squandered. Rivers is really the Bucks’ only option. He has them cornered unless the they decide to ride with veteran assistant Joe Prunty for the duration of the season. Then again, if they wanna drudge up the fossils of a retread, maybe they should look to Mike Budenholzer.

Was on the fence but if Zombie Deadspin is against it then maybe it is the right move.

Glenn, I understand that the internet is a private place, but I'm curious if your last name begins with R?

Sounds like Atkinson is still in contention. Grand prize is Kerr next year.

With Portland tasting the flipside of Dame’s downside, I can’t help but recall how Ted Thompson must’ve been feeling right after flipping diva WR1 Javon Walker to Denver for a 1st round pick. I like Dame, give him benefit of the doubt; but you get the whole package.

Ive come down from the high of finally trying to save the season and realized that I really hope they don’t hire Doc Rivers.

Lot of people are gonna buy into the "Giannis and Dame coach-killers" narrative and that's unfortunate. Again, to lose a locker room with this many respected veteran guys who are pretty much never about the drama, takes a legendary combo of coaching incompetence and emotional immaturity. Let's just be grateful that Griffin was actually this bad, cuz I don't think this happens if he's simply like, a Scott Brooks level "bad" coach.

I think European coaches are quite advanced in the X and O type of things, but i don't think it is time for experiments. Every euro coach will need some time to adjust to a completely different league (if he ever adjusts)

I need closure regarding whether Nurse wanted to come here or not.

If Doc is anything other than a stop gap I think there are serious questions to ask. But if you can get him to finish out the season and then reevaluate when things cool down in the summer, that’s probably the best case scenario.

I mean I don’t know that I’d want to commit to a big Atkinson contract right now either.

Sounds like he wanted to but Giannis didn't want him.

I was impressed with how quickly he was able to turn our sweet Disney-loving boy Brook into Larry Sanders the other night. Bet Brook's breathing a sigh of relief.

Middleton passes GLENN Robinson on the Buck's scoring list and the Bucks go on to hire GLENN ''Doc'' Rivers to be their head coach just a matter of days later?

This is no coincidence.

it's totally gonna be Doc (there are like a dozen names I'd hire before him personally fwiw) and that's fine unless it's on a 4 year deal or something

he should be a step or two up from Griffin

and it would make beating boston and/or philly extra funny with him at HC
