I'm starting to really warm up to this trade

For those that think we are "giving" away Joe Alexander think of it like this

Joe Alexander = 2008 lottery pick
Mike Conley = 2007 lottery pick

Pretty even there

Ramon Sessions = Guy who will walk because we can't afford to pay him this offseason

In my mind, we're swapping lottery picks and then throwing in a guy who has a high potential of walking this offseason.

The thing I think that is getting lost here, is that if management has determined that Ramon Sessions is not the long term answer at PG, then why give him a long term deal? We have to stop the Larry Harris pattern of seeing guys who can put up stats and then just immediately decide "we have to keep him, LOOK at his stats!" The Bucks have a long tradition of overpaying bench players and it always comes back to bite us in the ass.

Hammond is trying to put together a team. If he sees the potential in Conley and he believes that under the tutelage of Skiles system along with incumbent PG Ridnour, then Conley has a structured environment to develop his skills for the next 2 years under a rookie scale contract. At which point we can determine his future here.

I would HATE to pass up this deal, watch Ramon walk this offseason, then watch Joe Alexander glued to the bench the next two years while we are left using next years lottery pick on a PG.

If we can get the Lakers first out of this, its a slam dunk in my opinion. I would still do it with Memphis 2nd round pick as it would likely be a pretty high pick.

Overall I think Ridnour has been a little underrated this year. I don't agree with Chad Ford. Yes he turns the ball over here and there, but the offense seems to flow when he is in there, can hit a big shot when needs, hits free throws, etc. I feel much better when he is in compared to Sessions.

But seriously, this trade needs to happen or not happen. The drawn out debate has gotten old. :) Make it happen!

I think tomorrow I'll post something like a, Bogut and Sessions for Amare done deal, pending physicals thread. See if I can get that one to 100 pages.

Once you get the thread started, I'll sticky it and fan the flames with about 30 posts of my own comparing Bogut's back problems with Amare's knee and wondering if we could add Redd to the deal if they sent back Jason Richardson. 8-)

40 pages for a non-official trade. I love this forum.

We should start talking about the next trade within this trade thread.

Not sure if this works but I still like Villa/Jones corpse/Allens corpse for Camby.

I'm not saying there isn't any, but I'm curious if anyone has any evidence that Skiles and/or Hammond really do not believe that Sessions is our PG of the future or worthy or resigning?

The Enlund article this weekend could probably be used as exhibit A, as mentioning Sessions in the same breath as CV certainly is a bad sign for his future in Milwaukee. I also think a few of our resident insiders have very recently mentioned Skiles not liking Sessions as an after thought.

I think that would throw us into the depths of the luxury tax. It's the exact opposite of the financial moves we've been talking about during the previous 40 pages.

The way both Ramon and Joe played yesterday, I'm sure Memphis pulled out of the trade. First Landry, now Conley. What could have been...

I was more disappointed when the Landry deal fell through. I really wanted to see the Bucks get Landry. I'd like to see them make this trade but I don't think keeping Sessions is a bad alternative by any means.

I'm glad the Landry deal fell through at this point, if it was even close. With our offense as it's currently constructed, CV's scoring is more valuable to us than what Landry brings. The most attractive thing about Landry was his contract, but this team as currently constructed without question needs CV's diverse offensive abilities. They kind of already have what Landry brings in LRMAM.

This trade reminds me of when im drunk with a fat chick, one minute im like yea lets do it then im like nah, then back to ok fine lets do it..no wait..I changed my mind agian I dont want to.

Haha.

Then agian after that ''almost highlight'' dunk after the shot clock buzzer by Joe last night im leaning towards not doing the deal haha.

Thing about JA is he has the tools he just needs to play and get some confidence and he'll have a chance to be pretty solid.I know we said the same things about a guy like Haislip who had the ''tools'' but I think if JA has a solid work ethic he will eventually develop into a solid NBA player.

Hailsip had the tools he was just dumb and lazy.

Uh! You've got yourself in trouble. Adamcz will soon castigate you for such an appalling demonstration of disrespect towards a great mind of the game like Chad Ford. How can you insinuate he has no idea about the issue he's talking because he doesn't even watch the games? Besides, who needs to watch games anyway? Open your mind.

Hey Joe going out there has to be better than Allen...Doesn't it?

Yea and Elson,I think Skiles is just one of those coaches who doesnt like to play rookies for the simple fact they are rookies. Not saying JA would go out there and put up great numbers if he got minutes but i'd rather see him getting the minutes that go to Allen or Elson.

Well, he is giving LRMAM big minutes, so I don't think it is just because he's a rookie. But I agree, I would play him over Allen any day of the week.

Sooner or later one of these threads is going to be right on a potential trade. Hopefully before 2012 before the Mayans kill us all or whatever is supposed to happen.
