Re: Bucks talking Asik
Asik's salary is only $8M in 14-15, but his cap hit is $15M. Of all the curious moves the Bucks have made under Bone, this would rank right up there. It's not like we'd be trading junk to acquiring him. So even from a "hey, this can help us win!!" standpoint, it makes no sense. The only thing I could even think of was that they would view clearing Ilyasova's 15-16 salary as a positive, but that still isn't enough incentive, and his 16-17 salary is only minimally guaranteed.
To summarize, this makes no goddam sense whatsoever.

Re: Bucks talking Asik
We got Sanders at C and he is 100% incapable of playing PF. We have Henson who's been playing center even and, even though he's too skinny right now, unless he significantly improves his outside jumper, it looks like he'll have difficulties playing PF alongside Sanders (at least offensively). We have Udoh. We have Zaza. Why the **** do we need Asik who's going to be 28 next summer and 29 when his $15 million contact expires in the summer of 2015. This makes 0 sense. If it goes down... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I remember last trade deadline. It sounded like a bunch of stupid deals were on the table. When a deal actually happened.... it was worse than any of us imagined. I wouldn't be surprised to see the repeated.

Re: Bucks talking Asik
This means Sanders would be gone. It's really fair value, and won't win us any games...seeing as how we still struggle to put up 80 on any given night.
The part that would really piss me off is this would lead to trading Sanders for pennies on the dollar. Only Way I like this is if it turns into a Sanders/Mayo for Adams/Lamb/OKC 1st/Perkins deal

Bone should not be allowed to make any trades. Every time he does he gets owned.

Re: Bucks talking Asik
I like Asik but he doesn't fit this team and this deal makes zero sense for the Bucks. Lets make our offense even more guard orientated yet take away the guy that can help spread the floor for them? Plus it's awful return for Ersan+Wolters+Udoh. A realgm could get better return for that package, it's a total rape by Morey of our FO.

I think it's flipped, actually. Salary will be $15 but cap hit is $8. The cap hit would've been $15 for the Knicks had they matched, that's why Houston offered the poison pill.

I don't really think that's true at all. Value wise it really isn't bad.

Re: Bucks talking Asik
Let me get my MBBOT on for a sec:
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE CAN'T BE DEALING WITH MORWAY!!!!!!!!11!1!1!!1!1!!

This seems at first glance like a somewhat even trade until u realize that we're killing millions in cap space and flexibility for next year AND giving up on Wolters before we even know what the hell we have. And it's not like he hasn't flashed, he's been incredible in the time he's gotten as far as production for a rookie second rounder. We also get back zero players who have developmental potential.
And the fact that Morway is making us include Nate makes me feel like Wolters could be a future Hall of Famer or something, Jesus don't give him unknown players he's targeted smh. If the FO is deadset on a Ers for Asik trade offer the same trade without Wolters and if Morway eventually accepts then whatever, still not a good trade for us because its a lateral move as far as talent and it hurt next years cap, but if he won't accept that deal without Wolters then run dont walk away from the f*cking negotiating table and sign Wolters to a lifetime contract immediately.
SOMEBODY IN OUR FRONT OFFICE NEEDS TO GROW SOME F*CKING BALLS TO STAND UP TO THE KOHL MANDATE. He got his way with the offseason signings of and trades for vets and it didnt work out. Tell him u tried it his way and now he needs to sit down and shut up. If he fires u at least u can exit this abortion of a front office with a modicum of self respect...

Giving the Bucks any benefit of the doubt is the definition of insanity. How many times in the past have we been saying: "There has to be more to this deal. There has to be more!?!?" And, then...crickets.
Our beloved organization has no multi-faceted plan. They are simply a room of fumbling idiots who react at all costs in their quest for the playoffs. 5 - 17. Postured beautifully for potentially the best draft in over a decade...let's trade and go for that coveted 8th seed. After all, the Eastern Conference is weak. Maybe, just maybe, that means we have a shot against Indiana and Miami too.

I think you're both wrong. I think the salary cap hit is 15 million but that the salary as far as trade purposes is 8 million. I'm pretty sure about that.

why Wolters? Houston has 4 PG on their roster already.

Personally I think Ersan is worth Asik straight up easilly.
So we go from 8 PFs on he roster a few years ago to now having 4 Centers and no PFs? wtf

Because Morey knows he could suck any little bit of value out of Kohl and the gang that he wants.

The cap hit is definitely 8 and salary owed is 15 (for next year).

I don't have any confidence in our FO to do something smart, but I won't rag on them for doing something stupid until it actually happens. Just trying to keep calm here

Yeah, wouldn't shock me at all to see us completely **** up a Sanders trade in addition to this.
