my 2K team needs Jordan. It also needs Vaughn to become a Redd like shooter.

How does it work if Middleton signs a huge offer sheet right when free agency starts? Does that number instantly become his cap hold for the 3 days the bucks have to match?

Seems like it would be in the bucks best interest to come to an agreement with Kris on a contract so he can delay signing it while they chase free agents.

they can start agreeing to terms on July 1st but they dont sign the contracts until the 10th and they can put the contracts in any order that they want. So we would have 3 days starting on July 10th to match

For whatever it is worth

Free agency begins July 1 and, according to a person close to the scene, Khris Middleton won’t be a free agent for long and will reach a quick agreement to remain with the Bucks.

If it wasn't clear already, the Bucks are bound and determined to come away from free agency with a big man. Just a matter of how they have them ranked and which one on their list is the one they secure.

And while I'm at it, those were not MCW trade scenarios on the white board. They were depth charts. MCW, Ennis, and Middleton were listed on both. Mayo and Bayless were only on one. Still seeing that being misrepresented.

My guess: Middleton will reach a quick agreement but won't sign it until we make our move.

Can anyone blow up that picture so we can clearly see what is on the board? How are you guys able to read that?

I'd guess they know a team that will absorb the $3mm owed to Bayless.

With the trade for Vasquez, Bayless really appears to be the odd-man-out. Unless of course, there's a trade involving MCW that does not bring back a point, which seems really unlikely.

    MCW
    Vasquez
    Bayless
    Ennis
    Gutierrez (NG contract?)

Plus Mayo can pinch hit if needed. Theoretically Marshall could be available mid-season in a pinch?

Bayless (and Gutierrez) just looks redundant with Vasquez on board.

If we really want to make a run at him, we probably have to have a plan to give away Mayo or Bayless. Otherwise I don't think we have the cap space to sign max guys like Jordan or Lopez (if he's really a max guy) any more.

Or maybe it'd be a sign and trade. Our best shot would probably be if we are the Clippers' preferred spot to deal him.

I don't think Dallas is so enticing an option other than the Cuban factor. Dirk is old, Parsons had a bad knee injury, Ellis is leaving for nothing. And the Lakers still have Kobe, plus Jordan would be cast as a villain for going to the other LA team.

Also trading the Clippers pick right before we make a run at Deandre would be odd. But if we sign him no one would care.

I think a defensive/rebounding big man is exactly what the Bucks need. Kidd is putting together a similar (but younger) version of the team that he won a title with in 2011. The only thing missing is a rim protector. The offense won't run through the center. He's only there to play defense, get put backs, and catch the occasional lob pass.

I don't think the Bucks end up with DeAndre though. He's repeatedly stated that he wants to return to Texas to play. Mavs are prepared to offer him a Max deal and are also pursuing Danny Green. They still need a PG but a core of Jordan, Dirk, Parsons, and Green should be able to lure one to Dallas. Another option for Dallas has been Tyson used in a sign and trade to get DeAndre.

But with the Bucks he would immediately be the face of the franchise in a weak conference where he will have a red carpet path to the all star game. I think Kids can sell him the vision

Jordan kind of reminds me of Erick Dampier, at least in terms of a temporary peak and probable career trajectory. I wouldn't want him under any realistic circumstances.

This is what it'll come down to.

I can see Kidd telling Jordan that he'd be a god in Milwaukee if he signs here (he'd be the equivalent of Reggie White) and that he not only would clearly be an All Star but a veteran leader on what would soon be a perennial championship contender.

The Bucks being in the East could really help us here. The only competition I'd be worried about is the Cavs, and with fantastic defenders in MCW / Middleton / Giannis / Jordan in tow, I can't imagine a better situation for slowing King James down.

Jordan is a pipe dream, not going to happen......I have no desire for either Lopez or Chandler, not a lot of quality bigs out there. Kanter can score and rebound, I just have no need for anyone who is not some kind of scoring threat.

No to Kanter. He's worse than Lopez on both ends of the court... Dude's "Hobo-Lopez."

I hope this is true. We just need to get Kidd alone with DeAndre so he could sell him on Milwaukee. This would be huge for us if we are able to sign him.

You don't seriously believe we have a chance...do you? Maybe we'll sell him on our shooting coach 8-)

If David West is going to NY does that mean Greg Monroe isn't?

I didn't believe we would make the best playoffs after being the worst team in the league, and a top 5 defensive team with Larry going awol. With Coach Kidd around....
