The PF spot is good, cause then everyone that guards him will be much slower. Maybe not traditional post PF, high post could work, 12ft J or drive and finish. Or with a good PnR PG if the other team switches Giannis advantage.

We're kind of getting away from stagnant roles, and offenses and players responsibilities/skills are being considered.

So Tournament in Turkey is next? How about an Ersan - Giannis battle, that'll be fun if their is even a stream for that game.

Giannis is gonna kill these dudes in Group C. Croatia is the only team with a shot to contend with him physically. Everyone else is slower & smaller.

I was there yesterday.

Giannis started as a 4 (Printezis as 3!).
Calathes, Sloukas and Koufos completet the S5.

So much to say but I have to work :D

1. The Greek NT Offense did not ran smoth at all. Belgium was (2. Game) much more smooth in the Offense

2. Giannis an a PF in Half Court Offense was not really smooth also. Most of his Points came frome Coast-to-Coast
and FTs. In the Defense he can play 4 without any Problem.
I dont linke it very much that Giannis has to switch Positions so often. He even played 5 yesterday for some minutes.
He is too young to learn the Game, severall Positions and so on. I would prefer him playing 3 like last year.
But we have a lot of veterans on 3 and he is very tall. So the Coach will continue using him on 4 I assume.

3. Giannis is extremely focused befor the Game. No smile, no talk, nothing. After the Game shy but taking his time for
fans, fotos and autographs. Half of the attendance where Greeks :D

4. I was very surprised to see the boxscore with Giannis having only 17 Minutes. I sat right behind the Greek Team
and I was feeling like Giannis is playing most of all.

At the end of the day the Greek Coach was changing the Players every 2 Minutes and it was our first Game.
Nothing to worry about but I did not really get the "Gameplan" of the Coach.

Whatever.

5. Lots of Home Calls but hey it's a friendly. So I am OK with that. But the Greek Team got really pissed.
Did not like that behaviour (4 technical Fouls for us!)

(for the Greeks: Agravanis on 5 will not work. He got an unsportsmanlike foul without any need.
He is too young and too nervous. I can remember an epsiode with Christodoulou last year at the Under 20 Championship
where he wanted to hit his teammate. For me he has to be cut first. He is just too young and unexperienced for
the Mens Championschip although having plaied Euroleague Minutes)

Here you will find some pics from Yesterday

On this Facebook Page you will find more pics during the European Championschip as I will be in Zagreb
for the 1. Round and may be also for the 2. round :D

Some Likes would be nice :D

Thanks for the links and the report (I also liked and follow your FB page now). It also appears from the stats that Calathes and Perperoglou's performance.
When 2 of your players that are considered good scorers ,in combined 35 minutes shoot with 0%, then you have a big problem.

Again ,that was the first friendly more of a practice and against Belgium . I have to admit even if I had done the 6 hour drive to Antwerp, I would be tempted to go to Kulminator and drink lambics all night long, instead of going to the game

Nah. The Trip was nice. 6 hour drive from Stuttgart also but we had fun. It alwasy feels nice to be near to the team.

I got my jersey signed talked a little bit to the Coach. It was nice. You don't go to such games for the Basketball
but for the action befor and after the game :D

(I assume you speak German? If so it would be nice to have further discussions on the German Forum also about our
NT Team. I think most of the guys here just want to know how Giannis is doing :D )

Good job Turbostef. Thanks for sharing.
So Giannis was at 4 when Printezis was in?. That's weird.
I guess he played some minutes at 5 because Koufos get hurt and Bouroussis wasn't there. Last summer we were talking about Giannis the pg and now we talking about Giannis the center )

Yeah absolutely strange to see Printezis guard opponents on the perimeter

I think this lineup is not good for Giannis nor Printezis

I think Giannis played 5 because there was no Gameplan
Sarikopoulos got some major minutes because Koufos got Hack-a-Koufosed
and got some minor scratches on his arms

Sarikopoulos did not really impress me (but he is really a very nice guy and it was
his first Match with the NT) but for sure I think he would be more usefull than Agravanis as
3. Center (if Katsikaris wants a 3rd Option Big Men on his Roster)

He is very tall, very big and in really good shape. The Women around me got big eyes when
he changed his jersey

Agravanis is very big also but not that tall and less experienced (and too nervous)

I think Giannis as a part time 3rd Big Men would not be a good solution.
We just have to use him wisely.

In the Offense I don't want Giannis to see Minutes again on 5. Just let this boy be a Human Mis Match on 3
and crush his opponents!

Let Printezis and Kaima get their normal Position on 4. Or use Perperoglou on 4.
Take a 3rd Center (for security reasons).

This woulkd be my ideas after the Game Yesterday. But it is too early to take decisions after
one friendly game. Lets wait what happens Friday! :)

Great video!

Giannis seems to have video game speed compare to the others on court.

I liked the pass from Printezis to the cutting Giannis. He is doing it a lot with the Bucks also.

Yeah he was much bigger and faster than anyone on the court, so pretty good reason for the free throws. Would like to see him do that against better comp coming up but it was good to see him beat his man to the spot and take contact and shoot instead of avoid contact

This was the most interesting take-away for me because I think, along with shooting, his half-court offense has got to improve. Do you think he'd be better in the half-court as a 3? Either way I hope he can develop that a little this summer and I'll be following to see how and where Greece plays him.

One big thing I'm really excited about is that he doesn't seem to have lost any quickness or explosiveness at all with his added muscle, in fact he looks even springier. He has legit big man size now, and I was worried he would become more and more big man-like in his movement, but he's still flying around like a guard which is awesome to see.

Hard to say. FIBA BAsketball is different than NBA Ball. Due to the Zone Defense the paint is packed and
drives are more difficult.

But at least SF is a Position Giannis is playing most of the time, most of the year. He would create major mismatches
and would still be able to rebound in the paint.

Additionally Printezis who is a PF would play on his natural position also.

It was only one friendly Game but still I would rather see Giannis go Coast-to-Coast, Drive than Post Up in the Paint.

The Problem is that the European Championship starts in less than one month. Why change the natural position of
severall players without any need?

Friday and Sunday the next 2 Games (against Bosnia and Turkey). Lets see what happens there
