Snell is shooting 51.6% from beyond the arc since December 12th (33 games).

Mirza is shooting 29.2% from beyond the arc during that same time.

And would anyone be shocked if this time next year, those two were completely reversed?

27 games is plenty to see where Thon is. He looks very good and very bad. Which is fine, we all knew he was raw. I just want to see enough to be hopeful he'll make a nice year 2 jump. I'm optimistic.

I can certainly see a scenario where the parts "align" without Jabari and with Midds. So the team turning it around wouldn't be a huge shock, but even if we do the next couple of weeks, those last 17 games will be pretty brutal assuming we don't change up our schemes.

The point is simple,when people promote a specific false narrative especially to the people that watch this team and the games it becomes borderline insulting.

The discussion started about tonight's game and Giannis getting locked down, it was never about Jabari defense it was about arguing against the BS narrative that Giannis got locked up in 1 v 1.Jabari came into discussion when Millbuck simply tried to make the credit from one of the best and proven elite defenders and claim that jabari was the HUGE reason behind those players performing bad and not Giannis, which i disagree.

Stop putting words in my mouth. For the thousandth time I never said Jabari locked down Butler or Kawhi. All I said was that he was the primary defender on them for huge stretches of the game, and that help defense particularly in the paint was a huge factor in containing them. Literally nothing about Jabari's 1 on 1 defense being what contained them.

Jabari being the primary defender on Butler specifically isn’t disputable btw, the games are all online and I just checked them out to make sure I'm remembering correctly, and I am. Jabari is the primary defender on Butler pretty much the entire game for all 3 games, Giannis’ primary assignment is Taj and he only guards Butler when Jabari is on the bench and/or on switches when it occurs. Again I’m not saying that Jabari locked Butler down (far from it, help defense is what did it), but just that he was unquestionably the primary 1 on 1 assignment for Butler.

With that said, I am going to the game tonight and completely torn about how I feel about the season from here on out. Part of me wants to see them pull it together, but part of me really thinks we need one of these PGs in this draft. This leads me to being less than excited about the game tonight. Will just hope for monster Giannis and Thon nights and live with the result.

I feel like we should try to win and try to make the playoffs. We'd have to lose every single game for a while to get back for a top pick - not realistic. Our only chance to truly tank was selling big before the deadline anyway. One of those PG's will probably drop past top 10 and if we really want one of them, I'm sure we could trade for a high pick with a combination of assets (Parker, Brogdon, this years pick, future picks).

My advice is go for the "Everything but the Hoop" burger, cheer for a win, and worry about your coronary arteries instead.

Tomorrow may never come, and right now we have an exciting young team poised for a growth spurt. We may already have the PG answer in the one we stole in the second round in this year's draft. In this Giannis' breakout year he should have the opportunity to perform on the playoff stage. A few draft positions and a longshot hope at a top 3 isn't worth giving that up.
