It is interesting that we are slight favorites for this one. I thought it would be the other way around..

Edit: Am I missing something? Googling around I don't see that it's closed?

Lucky's 1313 would be good too, tons of TVs and since it's Tuesday not a ton of drunken idiots.

Aw man, I'm sorry, bad info on my part. Mr. Brews, which was across the street, is the one that closed. Same concept, same footprint, placed within yards of each other. I actually think Mr. Brews opened after Hopcat. Ever since out-of-town chains went in on State Street in a big way, the turnover has been crazy.
But we can't get a **** Taco Bell Cantina...

wait.

It's off-topic, but I do want to make one statement about State Street and the adjacent districts/neighborhoods. Many of the great, hole-in-the-wall spots got swallowed up by new construction, especially the sprawling Hub complex on lower State St and the refurbed part on the 100 block near Overture. There's been a few welcome additions within the last 5 years - most notably Short Stack, Taiwan Little Eats and Forage - but some of the other small spaces have been filled with places that just didn't have a chance in hell of surviving. In addition, some of the places are just too damn big for somebody independent to move in - Hopcat, Mr. Brews and the shuttered-for-years Cosi spring to mind.

Atwood, Willy St, Cap Square, East Johnson and the East Wash corridor [including the bits of Wilson and Main] have benefited and have now become the heart of Madison's dining and craft beer scene. I'm sure rents are going up there as well, but parking is markedly better [save for the Square] and there's places with a manageable enough footprint for someone to make a go of it. In short, infrastructure counts for a lot and Madison is now much more than a university attached to a town.

Go Bucks.

Regent St has really become an awful street to pre party before football games. Those bars suck.

Also, Bucks in six - wait, I mean Bucks 119 - Portland 111
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Since the Boston game, I'm worried any team with talent will be able to have a historic night from behind the 3 point line. I'm not too worried about the offense being stifled by anything but missed shots/TOs.

Neither here nor there, but Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney was running unopposed in today's election. Per your avatar, the refrain "And that's when Lincoln said, 'Don't diss Mahoney,' " rumbled about my cranium as I scanned the ballot.

Something just feels different about this bucks team (oh yeah, we're actually legit)

I can't remember ever having this much confidence. Normally I get so nervous for these west coast trips. This feels like a win to me. Giannis is going to go nuts. Triple double by the start of the 4th quarter.

Bucks win by 2 in OT. Something like 118-116

Now I'm bit worried with Bud's system because if we give Lillard and McCollum easy midrangers they will get super hot..

I hope we will make some adjustments and not just try to outscore them at their home ground.

So far Walker and Irving are the two players with the most success against us, and Lillard is the same type of waterbug in PnR. I worry about bleeding threes to him like we did those two (Walker 7-13 3pt, Irving 6-12 3pt) more than conceding mid-ranges. Even Lowry got up nine threes against us but luckily he was ice cold.

This road trip will be an absolute gauntlet of guards who can torch us from three off high screens-- Lillard, McCollum, Curry, Lou Will, and Murray-- Bledsoe, Brogdon, and DiVincenzo are going to have their hands full if Bud continues to concede those shots by dropping Lopez into the lane.

There's still plenty of solid spots on State, they're just few and far between now. Lower State has always kind of sucked, at least once you get beyond being a 22-year-old.

The Willy Street renovation is interesting. Long time residents are not very happy about the apartment complexes and gentrification of that neighborhood. Will be interesting.

What's changed in the last several years though? Not being snarky, real question what's different to you? (other than getting older, haha) They're all the same as they've been imo. The new Lucky's replacing Stadium essentially. Still, it's the same as it's always been isn't it.

ETA, IDK why it bolded the whole thing. Just tried your quote about regent football.

Hopefully, there's an endurance dividend at the end of the year. Less wear-and-tear fatigue and niggling injuries with fewer minutes. That may give them a little more going into the playoffs.
