Portis was my guy in 2015 too haha, he's still relatively young and has been on some terrible teams developmentally in addition to his incident with Mirotic. As long as we didn't overpay its a good pick up I think.

Good 3 point shooter who adds some toughness. Still only 25 too.

Re: Bucks sign Bobby Portis
Pat was a terrible signing. Honestly on a scale of 1-10 overall Pat is a 3. Portis on the other hand with that value contract is a 8/10 being only 25. Like Titan said I love we finally have a player besides Giannis with a spine.

I like him. Will be real nice to have a tough guy out there when someone takes a cheap shot at Giannis. Can shoot too.

I'm not saying it isn't valid necessarily, just curious if it's known to be a continued problem. It was 3-4 years ago.
Also it's not like it was unprovoked. IIRC the Bulls locker room largely sided with Portis.

Re: Bucks sign Bobby Portis
Portis has some skills and brings physicality, but he has never enjoyed much success. He has only seen the playoffs once in his five seasons. He has only started 54 NBA games.
He has not played good enough to stick on a roster lately. The Bucks will be his fourth team in three seasons.
Conceptually he should be able to fill Ilyasova's role. Or should that be Marvin William's role?

Pat signing sucked ass, Augustin signing kinda sucked (if all 3 years guaranteed), and this one is pretty solid. I give this all a C-

That's a great 2y/BAE signing. Don't get how people can be mad about it.

He's also got crazy eyes. Do you need more proof?

I'm a peaceful man, by nature, but this is amazing. What a loose cannon. Lol. I hope being on a contender will help him channel that energy in the right direction. We could use a Dennis Rodman type. Only, I highly doubt his bbiq is anywhere near Rodmans.StickeeFingaz wrote:We did need some crazy and some toughness.

I haven't specifically watched Portis in several years, though. Like since the Mirotic/Portis battle years. Is he still worth a damn?
In theory, yes. In actuality, no. He kind of reminds me of Brandon Knight in that way.

Bobby is nuts, is a chucker, and has crazy eyes. Nevertheless he is strong, rebounds, and can hit threes. There is sometimes a bump in efficiency and value a younger vet type gets when they join their first winning locker room. Let’s hope Bobby experiences that.

I don't think the Bucks should allow him to fake wrestle with Giannis.

Winning tends to improve direction of energy. Hopefully it does here. The guy has skills, and he's tough.
