At some point, one of the young guys Horst has picked, will pan out. So far, AJ Green has the clearest path to play. The others, so far, have too many holes. Boston did the right thing in constantly drafting and trading for shooters. Horst not so much.

Can't help but feel like he's the Bobby replacement. You can say that he and Bobby are not all that similar, and you're right. But the common denominator is: tall and can shoot. The things that Bobby does differently, we dont really need. We need our stretch four to make a quick decision between shoot, pass and drive so that our real creators have more time to create.

I'm cool with it.

LOL or a Dan Flashes shirt [edited to say I didn’t know Dan Flashes was real! I thought it was made up for the “I Think You Should Leave” skit. Obnoxious shirt culture is having a moment!]

I really like his jumper, and think that’ll translate. I also think he’ll be able to speed it up in time, and look like a real shooter not just a big who can shoot.

I also think he’s got nice vertical pop, and some good straight line quickness, so there’s some hope for attacking closeouts that wouldn’t just be a back down that bigs down the offense.

I hope he can guard on the perimeter and stick with wings, because that gives him considerably more upside.

As with many young players, if he has a motor, can play with physicality, and just competes, he could find the court sooner than later.

So, He's 19, 6'9, athletic and can shoot threes... Why is he going this late?

We are drafting players with names from an NBA AI generator.

Go Tyler, hope you have a productive career.

6'10 or 11" in shoes

main thing is that the people who actually watched Ignite games (I didn't) say he was bad on defense, but he was also forced to play the 5 and that's not his spot in the league IMO (he had the 7th best lane agility time in the combine (only behind guys smaller than him), he *should* be good at switching)

I had him as a clear first-round talent

if I was GMing a rebuilding team I would have given him close look even in the late lotto

Most mocks I saw had him as a 1st round grade. Was going as high as in the teens a few weeks ago, and I think CBS Sports even mocked him at our 1st round pick. Definitely can't play the "we reached for him" card here. By all accounts, getting him in the 2nd is great value.

Tankathon has def rating at 4 negatives & his worst attribute. Hopefully it is an out of position thing.

It was pointed out earlier that Boston has had a lot of team and developmental success by getting guys that can shoot. I do like that we have some guys (Dame, Mids, Green, Bobby) that are plus nba shooters. Lets make that a team identity moving forward. I like Tyler’s shooting form and release point.

You said it better than me.

This is why I call Bobby a luxury for us. You always would take an efficient scorer regardless of position and it but if you can move him for an equal caliber player but better fit (guard that can defend and move and ideally shoot) then you do it.

He should definitely be switchable and averaged 1.3 steals and 1.8 blocks per 40 in the G-league. The Ignite were awful and I imagine that and playing out of position are impacting the defensive metrics, but he still managed to be one of like 2 players with a positive win share on that team. Obviously there's a question of how much any of these players meet their potential but I don't see any reason he can't be a decent defender.

How many times last season did we have to depend on Bobby because nobody else outside the big 3 could create & they often weren't available or on the floor?

If you trade Bobby, which I lean toward, you lose another go-to offensive player, & 1 off the bench. That would likely need to be replaced, at one position or another. As much as I've pushed back on virtual total dismissal of Johnson for the future or even present from many, I don't think you can project him into the rotation immediately. Smith doesn't do anything for us in this regard.

If you didn’t vote future all star for both draft picks are you even a real fan? Are you even a real person? Valid questions imo.

He gives me Bobby Portis vibes without the strength or the "don't **** with me" vibe.

Edit: The Ringer compared him to Charlie V. Not a bad comp. Hopefully he has a motor, though.
