That was an important point for me.

It came a split second before the 5 second call, so not really a big deal.

The line was -5.5

That was a massive free point for some people :)

Porter's been a lot of fun, but I think Doc has been wise to limiting him to the minutes he's received. Every possession is an adventure. I suppose some of the mis-connections is just working with new guys and their idiosyncrasies, but he's prone to some headscratchers that can't be explained away. Can get his offense, but is still trying to figure out how to run the offense for others. Once again, his running mates are, ahem, limited, but he can't be hanging out just shy of the center line.

Now, if he make headway on those points...ayyyyyyyyye.

Credit to where credit is due. Doc has put Porter in the perfect role for him and those Kuz + bench mob units have held up for these long stretches in good part because of KPJ doing his best Allen Iverson impression and keeping the offense afloat just enough. Don't think that works as well with the starting unit though.

old skool wrote:KPJ just takes over in short spurts. That crew that starts the 4th quarter is just crazy. 3 players not on the roster a month ago. Antetokounmpo and Lillard on the bench.

I can't imagine it will take very long for scouting reports to tell teams to double KPJ and force the ball out of his hands.

I'm surprised that the Bucks do so poorly overall with KPJ on the court. 9 games played and he has only had a positive +/- twice. One neutral. 6 negatives.

Doesnt alot of the +/- have to do with whose on the court with him.That plus thing is so overated every game ive seen him play hes been a huge spark on both O n D

Per 36 -> 5.5 reb, 5.7 ast, 3.8 stl, 4.6 tov, 22.4 pts, 5.5 fta

And because all mid season SG acquisitions should be judged on the Salmons Scale™️, here are John Salmons numbers in 2009/10:

37.6 min, 47%/39%/87%
Per 36 -> 3.1 reb, 3.1 ast, 1.1 stl, 1.5 tov, 19.0 pts, 5.0 fta

I wonder if Doc is hesitant to increase his minutes and just wants him to focus on those two spurts each half. But there seems to be more room for him to play in the Dame off/Giannis on minutes. I have to imagine there are some easy buckets to be had in a GA/KPJ pick and roll.

Ive moved from cautious optimism to "we have a real guy" territory. I am no longer questioning anything about him from a basketball standpoint. Its strictly a matter of keeping his nose clean. All the things he is doing on the court are repeatable.

We have the perfect coach and the perfect vets for him. If he cant succeed here its on him.

Those arnt bad per 36 most of the buck fans would love to hsve a pg putting up those stats in 36 mins

It's amazing who doesn't post in these threads after a game like this. Must be a miserable way to be a fan when your primary motivation is pushing your own personal player agendas.

Really nice win. Wasn’t able to watch the fourth quarter unfortunately. Seems like I missed a fun last few minutes.

Watched KPJ’s last little stretch on X and that was something. When he’s hot, he’s HOT lol. Nice to see that trade pan out.

From the quarters I did watch, Kuz brought it on defense and on the boards again which is great. Clutch three is just icing on the cake there. Much like KPJ, when he’s on, he’s on.

Getting KPJ at the trade deadline was so huge. Having him and Trent coming off the bench together, and then with Bobby coming back for the playoffs- that's some serious scoring firepower from our reserves. Perfect fit.

After every bad game 20% of this board or the same 10 to 15 posters come out of their closets to start the trade dame garbage again.Or 1 poster who constantly like clock work kerps throwing out us n minus on dames D and actually believes that plus / minus is the 100% tell all of how good a player is its fu... pathetic

KPJ has been a good basketball addition. Like what he brings on the court. Kuzma also has been a surprise. Teams rolling and playing well!

I'm not a Dame hater by any means, but I do think we should give serious consideration to trading him this summer, and I think if we don't at least make the ECF, we likely will.

I don't know about "likely", but if we're healthy and fail to make it past the 2nd round, then everything sans Giannis should be on the table. Coach, GM, roster spots 2-15. Everything.

I'd generally agree. Mostly out of age, get something back while you can rather than have to give an extension and/or have him turn into a pumpkin as he ages or gets an ACL/Achilles. Things haven't quite clicked anyway, add in his age and yea try for the shakeup while you still have an asset like him to do it. Better than having to give away in a year or two like KM.

But of course, it would really come down to what you can get back.

I'm not 1 of the over-the-top haters, but I do think the Bucks should trade Dame even if he wins Finals MVP, cuz of his age.
