Any chance we are team calling about Jaylen Brown? I assume it would take Dame's salary, etc

I’m wondering if Phoenix is willing to trade Royce O’Neale for Connaughton and a future 2nd. This clears $10 million is salary in 2026 and adds another trade asset. O’Neale is in his early 30’s but is still a solid role player who can shoot and rebound. He’s also capable of closing out games.

To me KPJ and Portis (if he opts out) should be Horst’s top priorities to resign. Trent, Sims and Rollins should also be considered but only if the price is right.

I’d say we’re more likely a team calling about Paul George.

If we're bailing PHX out of that Royce contract then we better be getting the 29th pick here.

The only way we would have even a remote chance of getting him (without trading Giannis obviously) is if the league has determined Jaylen's contract is terrible already. I think we're a couple years away from teams potentially starting to think he's a negative asset on his contract, but my guess is he would return a ton of value if traded right now and we simply do not have a ton of value to offer.

Yeah, I don't see Boston trading Brown for Dame even if Dame were 100%.......definitely not now with the torn Achilles.

I think people are going to be surprised by what the Celtics get for Hauser.

It certainly won't be Brook Lopez.

And I think people are going to be surprised by what Brook Lopez will get. No interest in Hauser now that it seems like the league as a whole seems intent on bailing out Boston from their self-inflicted cap hell. I would take him into the MLE with some 2nd's attached but that's about it.

I’d want 11 plus both swaps and the Bucks first back for taking those two awful contracts.

I think it’s safe to assume Portland sees Jrue as a valuable asset to mentor Scoot and be Chauncey’s right hand man on the team. Awful contract? Yes. Easily attainable with assets on top? No.

the idea jrue cant be a contributing player to a winner has been......when?

money is money. we have like 85 million of dead money. having the contributing player would be nice. grant might be rejuvenated too.

this move punts 65 million dead money and gains the 11 pick. cant believe anybody wouldnt make the suggested trade. its unrealistic on our side

I think even the teams with the best culture of character probably shouldn't take on more than one project kind of case, even if they are desperate.

Horst has never had any sort of foresight or long-term vision even when we had tradeable assets to burn, so I'm not holding my breath that his grand offseason plan extends beyond using salary exceptions/bird rights to re-sign some of our own guys and grabbing a couple vet minimums that get priced out in free agency.

This is depressingly true :banghead:

Celtics make plans and execute, we just sit around doing nothing waiting for leftovers.

Horst winning that one executive of the year award killed us. I don't know who people think this guy is organizationally, but he is way over his head in terms of his ego/stubbornness, and hasn't shown any ability to surround Giannis with modern, skilled young players.

his focus has been allstars for sure. dame, jrue, lopez

I think it's really as simple as that. He's an elite shooter who's signed long-term at a pretty cheap rate. If we were to go in that direction, I'd probably rather have Kispert between the two but I think it's pretty similar line of thinking.

He's attainable with the rations we have available to trade (maybe, I actually don't think he is) and he can hit shots. That's kind of it.

Anybody on your wishlist isn't coming through that door.

Who's on my wishlist? I need to know.

I love shooting, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get a one dimenional guy, unless his dimension is being a great switchable defender.

Hauser was completely unplayable in the Knicks series even when they desperately needed offense/shooting after the Tatum injury. No clue why people are so eager to sign up for 4-yrs, $40+ million of the precisely one NBA skill that he brings. Those kind of contracts for these kinds of dudes almost always age poorly (Kyle Singler, Anthony Morrow, Davis Bertans, etc., etc.).

San Antonio pretty clearly wants to get bigger. Any chance there's a S&T with Brook for Harrison Barnes?

To be fair, he was out with an injury for most of the series and I don't think he was close to healthy when he did finally play. He's also had a positive on/off split every postseason including this year.

I do think Boston will get more in a Hauser trade than I'd be comfortable giving up but we'll see.
