Calathes>Bledsoe.

I know he’s had a long successful Euro career but watching Calathes pound the rock/control freak the offense instead of just giving Giannis the ball and getting the **** out of the way is a bummer. He also blew a few transition opportunities by not getting it out quicker. Think Greece should stagger his minutes with Giannis as much as possible. Too bad they couldn’t naturalize an American sharpshooter like Lojeski to open up the offense. Too much of the Greek Kendall Marshall right now.

Lojeski plays for Belgium, and he's been 100% washed up for like 3 years. He can barely even touch the rim now.

Shows how much you follow / know about European basketball.

Just watched him draining threes in person a couple weeks ago alongside the top American Euroleague players for “Team Hines.” He looked pretty good. Didn’t realize he played for Belgium though. Shows how much I know! Point is you need to naturalize someone, the Greek guards aren’t good enough.

Greece - Montenegro 85 - 60

Boxscore : http://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2019/game/3108/Greece-Montenegro#tab=boxscore

Noticable:
Because of the blowout win , Giannis just played 16'
Papagiannis was amazing and almost flawless. In 18' : 15 PTS 7/8 FG 1/1 FT 9 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 2 BLK , 1 PF , 0 TO !
Vasilopoulos in almost 11' pulled a "Tony Snell Perfect 0" game :D

Epic game from Papayiannis with the lumbering and-1 throwdown at the end of the game. Nice way to start off the tournament. Brazil will be a different animal.

Ahh man! Greece is most probably going to be in Shenzhen on the 7th. That's right across the border for me. I could be there in a little over an hour!

I checked the schedule, and the F1 vs E2 game is sold out and that's probably most likely where Greece will be. I was going to bring my Giannis Bucks shirt and look for a little greece flag to wave. :waaa:

The black market price is over $800USD :banghead:

I had no idea the chinese were so crazy for Giannis. There were thousands in the stands over an hour before the game started cheering when he made a pass :o

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

I told this story before don't know where that post is anymore, but I was in Beijing I think a little over a year ago, and I met this English speaking Chinese basketball fan. I was trying to explain to her "Milwaukee Bucks" , "Giannis", "Greek Freak"...nope...nothinng, Never heard of them/him.

Finally I said, "You might call him the Alphabet."

She went nuts, "OH YAAAS! He's so Good!!!!!"

It was an awesome exchange and it was awesome relating to a basketball fan about the Milwaukee Bucks, on the other side of the world. First time in my life for that, thx to Giannis. And that's when I knew, Chinese fans already like Giannis. He's also done a couple China trips in the offseason with the NBA in previous years, so I think between that and winning MVP, he's a pretty big name.

Also there are two games in Shenzen both are Group E and Group F, (Group E has USA, Group F has Giannis and Greece), so the combination is making tix for that day insane. Doubtful they would meet up on the 7th, but it's still making it a busy day.

Especially with PApagiannis in there, he offers nothing apart from occupying space.

With this rate, we will use up all of our 3pters by the end of the 1st round and get eliminated by some random mediocre **** like Turkey or Poland as soon as statistics get normal and we go on a cold streak

I'm pretty impressed by the Greek team TBH, they play Giannis but they're not actually relying on him.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
