This is what should stop anyone who honestly expects the Bucks to get Westbrook. They don't have the contracts to trade for him. Ersan and Leuer alone means you still have $25 million of contracts to come up with, which the Bucks don't have available until December 25. Don't think the Thunder wait that long, and the Bucks would be foolish to make that trade anyways.

Yeah it could work with Leuer, Ers and Bledsoe, but we are going to have to move either Leuer or Ers to fit in George Hill. It's not possible.

Nope. It's the greatest mystery of 2019.

I think the great mystery is why our deals with Khris and Hill haven’t been completed yet.

Even if we could make a move for Westbrook, I'd still have zero interest. I don't think he's a bad player - you can't average a triple double for three consecutive seasons without having some ability to make good plays - and he's obviously a ball of energy that can be fun to watch when he's on. But he's basically Bledsoe with the dial turned up in all ways good and bad. He's not as good defensively, takes way too many bad shots, freelances too much instead of running a system, etc.

If we kept everything the same and swapped Bledsoe and Westbrook, I'm not sure how much better we'd be - we'd probably be worse in a lot of ways. I don't think I'd count on him to turn it on the playoffs, either.

Maybe they need to clear some cap in order to get the exception.... If they sign Kris and or Hill, it may negatively effect the cap to the point where we lose it.

I could see Detroit blowing their load to pair him with Griffin. Multiple 1sts, Kennard, that forward they took this year. Something outrageous.

Lopez/Lopez
Giannis/Wilson/Thanasis
Khris/Korver/Thanasis
Westbrook/Mathews/Connaughton
Bledsoe/Hill/Brown

Depth chart if Ers, Leuer, TPE & picks was the package.

I could see Minny being the team for Westbrook. Big expiring contract in Teague as well as Covington....Maybe we can get in there as the 3rd team and grab Covington.

TPEs can't be traded with any other players, they can only absorb a player, and the TPE for Brogdon, even if it's $20, is still massively short of Westbrook's $38.1 million salary.

If the TPE is for 20m can we just trade it and absorb Goran Dragic? I wouldn't mind Dragic filling in for Brogdon for a season and then hes 19m expiring after the season. I think Dragic fits well as a 2ndary playmaker and spot up shooter and even tho he's a liability on defense we have the protection behind him in the starting lineup to hide him a bit. Dragic and Brogdon have similar styles imho.

Idk how TPEs work in trades but if that's possible I'd heavily consider it as a band aid move to contend again.

Actually we could include one player outgoing with the exception.

I'd take Dragic if we could use the trade tpe and ship leuer out. Maybe even acquire another pick.

PG: Dragic/Hill/DDV
SG: Bledsoe/Matthews/Brown
SF: Middleton/Conny/Thanisis
PF: Giannis/Ersan/Wilson
C:Lopez/Lopez/Free Agent

That's one of a team going forward.

I thought of this too and mentioned it to a friend. MN is desperate for relevance/playoffs and trying to show KAT they can win. I'm sure they'd first try to use the Wiggins contract but that kinda defeats the purpose for OKC unless you bribe them with enough picks.

I actually like it for MN, IDK how their attendance is but their fanbase seems largely checked out to me (having some MN friends) and this would at least get people interested again.
