I’d be willing to bet that Horst isn’t even entertaining Dame trades. Right or wrong, it’s most likely true. I’m about 99.9% sure of it.

LaVine has played 47 less games than Giannis since 2018-19 and that’s basically just from last season when he only played 25 games. 60-70 is the new norm in the NBA.

I’ll never understand the uncaring attitude argument, the guy changed his entire game after he blew out his knee. He went to work and became a very good shooter. He plays 35 minutes a night every year.

Horst is invested in this core because he’s getting fired if this doesn’t work out. If there was a good deal for Dame I’d absolutely would do it and he’s the only piece on the team other than Giannis that could fetch a return with multiple assets which isn’t going to last much longer either. I’d be shocked if the team was that ballsy tho, I agree I don’t think it’s even being considered. Maybe in the offseason, there’s going to be big changes sooner than later. Probably won’t and shouldn’t be Horst making that call tho.

If LaVine doesn’t improve the defense then he isn’t worth talking about, our softness on that side of the ball is a big part of why our offense sucks. There isn’t the offensive rebounding or getting out in transition like in the past, get stops and everybody will magically look better.

It wouldn’t have mattered who the Bucks had out there against SA if that’s the kind of defense they’re going to play, giving up 144 points in regulation isn’t because they don’t have enough scoring or slightly younger core players.

It’s becoming increasingly clear there’s just one roster hole too many that we’re not gonna fix in one trade deadline, not with the assets we have (or rather don’t have). We need a 2024 Dallas-type deadline to get a PJ Washington AND Daniel Gafford type duo of bigs but we 100% are not getting something like that done.

What physical deficiency causes Lavine to be an ineffective defender? Is he slow? Unexplosive? Small? Nope. Yet he still can't defend. Why? He doesn't care.

I don't believe there is ONE player who could make us contenders again. We're old and unathletic, it's obvious. Adding Butler or Lavine and losing Portis, won't help. The whole roster needs restructuring. My first thought is to do NOTHING. Let's sacrifice this year and depending on playoff success or failure, we act accordingly in the summer.

BUT if we want to go all in and chase for the Championship right now, this is the risk that i am willing to take.

BUCKS : Jerami Grant/ Jonathan Isaak/ Caldwell Pope/ Jalen Suggs and two Orlando first round picks

MAGIC : Dame and Middleton

BLAZERS : Lopez/Connaughton and two-three seconds from Magic

WIZZARDS : Thybulle (and nothing else give or take).

The trade is legal, i checked it out at FANSPO Trade machine. Orlando gets the best player by far and get rid of Pope, who doesn't play very well this year. If they want to be title contenders this year, Dame and Khris are their only chance, they don't have offensive firepower.
Blazers get rid of Grant, they don't need him, Lopez is expired. 2 Orlando seconds and these are already too many.

Bucks get young, athletic, hungry and defensive-oriented, just as Giannis wants. Suggs can be our new Jrue. Isaak is a beast and Grant is good both in defense and offense (His numbers are kinda down this year though, maybe being in a contender team, will rejuvenate him. )
There is no team which can kill us in the paint, with those bigs (Giannis/Isaak/Grant/Portis). Pope and Suggs are dawgs. Suddenly, we are becoming like previous Bucks versions.AND we're getting under the second appron.

But now, we're out of guards and ball handlers. Just Suggs, some young kids and.. Giannis as playmaker.
So, a second trade is following.
KCPope and an Orlando first for Sexton (18 points and 41% 3pointpercentage this year).

So, the final version of 2025 Bucks. We retain also our 2031 first, which we're not afford to lose. Plus, another one Orlando first.

Suggs/Trent/Prince/Giannis/Isaak
Sexton/AJ Green/ AJJ/Grant/Portis, a very strong second unit.
and the young ones.

It's not a great team and i am not even sure if this is a good trade proposal or garbage. No team will bully as in the paint again. We're getting younger, stronger, more athletic and defensive-oriented but we lose offensive firepower. Not good spacing. Yet i think, we're going all guns blazing and if we fall, we'll fall fighting like hell. Right now, we're soft.

Dame is a great player, i don't want to lose him. Right now though, his trade value is peak level.

Bucks: McCollum, Harris, Matkovic and Theis
Detroit: Midds and Portis
NO: Lopez and Hardaway JR

PG: Lillard.........Green............Jackson......Johnson
SG: McCollum...Wright...........Trent
SF: Harris..........Conny............Beauchamp
PF: Giannis....... Prince
C: Theis............Matkovich....Robbins

Does that make us better? Saves like $5 Mil this year. Brook non extension. Portis non extension after opting out. Midds not opting in.

If by looking at stats. Our 3 are not putting up numbers to help the team, but does blowing it up infuse new life into them. I havent watched as much as i should so i know the opinion that will come about this.

Giannis never coasts
Teammates coast and rely on Giannis to carry them to the playoffs
Giannis gets injured for carrying their regular season load
Teammates like Khris have the privilege to play hero ball while Giannis is out
Fans get excited about teammates being playoff "risers"

I'm really leaning towards chasing Mathurin. He can score, and brings an edge. He adds athleticism and speed. It could be good use of our 2031 pick.

Mathurin instead of Prince changes us.

You might ignore the rest of his career, but NBA GMs sure haven't. He entered this season averaging just 58 games a year over his 1st 10 seasons.

Over that time period, Khris Middleton has played in 76 more playoff games.

All I wish for, is to get Khris traded so that I can gift Khris next team jersey to that Barrett dude.

At this point I believe he probaly has 5 different realgm accounts in order to defend Khris as much as he can.
