Each of the Giannis trade proposals made me squint, read through a second time because it seemed like I missed something, and then groan.

A guy I know who runs a website told me he hates posting mock drafts, but they generate double or triple the clicks of a regular article. There is something about NFL fans that aspire for their team to get better, that drives clicks and engagement. I imagine something similar is going on here at ESPN, where they get huge clicks from fans that naively think they can get Giannis for 2-3 rotation guys and 2-3 mid first round picks. I think these articles bring in readership. Because they are not realistic or credible or sensible. Giannis is a top 12 all time player about to turn in 3-4 more dominant seasons. That's worth more than a few mid tier rotation guys and first round picks in the twenties.

Zero good players back and 3 picks that are essentially worthless with Giannis there. It's actually impressive how hard ESPN has been going at this Giannis schtick this summer. Whoever runs ESPN behind the scenes must really hate Milwaukee.

Pistons Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Bucks Receive: Tobias Harris, Jaden Ivey, Isaiah Stewart and 3 1st round picks.

I also used to read espn regularly. Now i see their headlines. Anything that seems like clickbait, I avoid. I especially avoid anything on Giannis trade news. I didn’t read the article on 8 deals for example.

The less the number of clicks on those types of articles, the less will be the number of such articles in the future.

I don't read it regularly. I avoid it at all costs aside from watching games there. But some things just need to be made fun of. They've become a weird desperate TMZ as a company. They should go back to running highlights 24/7.

Ya, it's all algorithm news.... These articles are catching eyeballs and clicks, so push out more of the same. It doesn't have to be real or news, just clicks matter.

The Pistons one really is especially baffling.

Jesus Christ, that is an all-time low. It's like they went out of their way to figure out the worst possible offer Detroit could make.

The Raptors trade is a lot better than Pincus' Raptors trade. The GSW-Mavs trade is also absurdly bad and somehow has the Mavs stealing our equity.

It's really embarrassing. But we need to remember there are millions of casual readers who eat that stuff up. I still, almost daily have to tell people Giannis isn't going anywhere. "Yeah but I keep reading about these trade packages and stuff online"

Beal plus a first and some seconds for Dame is at least interesting to consider. Would need other things like Dunn and matching salary, but I’m not totally out on Beal turning it around here in MKE playing next to Giannis. As long as we are compensated fairly.

This made me LOL-My native village is close to the area where the Battle of Hydaspes occurred and there is a monument dedicated to Alexander's stallion.

SAS doesn't say a word, it's just JWill calling him an idiot the whole time for saying stupid things about Giannis.

Giannis is best staying put after Hali’s injury.

Your weekly Giannis update from Shams: when there's something to talk about, or maybe not something to talk about, we'll have something more definitive to talk about.

This has been your weekly Giannis update from Shams.

Cause this is his script. What would you expect from a network that has Stephen Smith and Kendrick Perkins as expert analysts?
It's all just entertainment, facts and critical thinking not required.

Can't wait for Giannis to zing him again.
