Love it. As much as i like moose off the bench, trading a bench player for a starter is a win.
Stop. HAmmond TIme!

No man -- a bratwurst isn't a hot dog for white folks. It's a white hot dog.
You couldn't be more wrong. This is a white hot dog (on the left obviously).

It all comes back to the knees. Home run trade if his knees hold up.
But this is precisely why other teams weren't clamoring to give up significant asset packages for him either now or back in the summer. The health risk.
Lanier's knees worked for five years after Bucks acquired him from Detroit. I'm taking the optimistic view.

Yeah we're talking about pick protections. Thats what we do around here. Break down the trades. And the response to the Bucks' take from this deal has been overwhelmingly positive. Here and nationally. Please slow down with the "top 3 team in the East" talk. At least for a few weeks.

This is so not how I imagined these things going. I pictured the guy being away from his team, then walking into the room with everyone else and being like "hey I just got traded", then everyone is like "whaaaat no way bro" and then there's that one guy that's like "for who?"
There's an image earlier in the thread where he's shaking hands with some of the guys. I think that's effectively what happened - he was probably at practice, coaches got the word, pulled him off the court, and then he said his goodbyes before packing up and departing.
It's abrupt and jarring to suddenly have to say goodbye to guys you've known for a couple years, but that's the life of a ballplayer. I have zero doubt his agents were aware he was being shopped, so I'm sure he was mentally prepared for this to happen.

Yeah, too bad we couldn't get them to bite on that one. I'll settle for this deal though.

guys on this board really really really like them some alexanders, Jennings, meeks, hensons, sessions, sanders, ersans, harris's, vaughns, makers, browns and wilsons. they really really really like guys like that because without them summer league is a total bore with zero expectation.
so the picks matter. bigtime.

Yeah pretty pumped about what this team can do, and that's without considering Parker making a healthy return. I am worried about bench production though with out moose though, but can't have it all.

Maybe it's just me, but I can actually taste Kidd's desperation with this move.

I love Moose, but this is a great move for the team- any time you can trade an NBA player for another NBA player you just have to pull the trigger. You HAVE to.

We're at Phoenix in 2 weeks, should be interesting.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I would guess his agent and the fact that he'll be looking for a huge extension after next year while heading into his 30's was also an issue. There is only so much value you want to give up for a guy you plan on only having for two seasons.
Plus, who knows, maybe he becomes a problem if the Bucks tell him they aren't interested in an extension. He clearly isn't beyond reacting negatively if he doesn't get his way.

Yes, that has potential to be unstoppable.
Unfortunately, Giannis has gotten like 6 minutes at center during Kidd's tenure, so it's not a given.

Agreed that played into it also. But in the end you'd pay him a big new contract in two years if you felt the knees weren't an issue.

I was attempting to be humorous about the awfulness that is DJ Wilson.
Also, to answer your question, yes, it is too bad. We could cut to the chase instead of paying him the next 3 years.
I honestly don't know if I'm kidding.

The best part about this trade is now Delly can ease back into his true position, third string PG.
Maybe Cleveland would take him and Henson for Tristan Thompson?
