Hoping we land one of these guys

1. McBride
2. Bones
3. Grimes

Grimes seems like the Brogdon pick in this range

Can't believe the draft is already here.

McBride, Mann, Grimes, Hyland or Dosunmu at #31 and I'm flyin'

What I love is I feel this draft is loaded for late 1st options. We're going to get a solid guy no matter what IMO. Springer, McBride, Mann, Grimes, Thor, Ayo...so many options.

Interesting. So for a title team looking to acquire a vet, it makes that pick pretty valuable. Only problem is Utah appears to be of the same mindset.

Honestly, i would rather we draft a rookie. We need young blood.

This list plus Springer.

I have to assume at least 1, likely more will be there.

My top 3 realistic options:

1. Miles McBride
2. Herb Jones
3. Ayo Dosunmu

McBride and Dosunmu offer a lot of the same things, though they come in different sizes. McBride will primarily defend PGs IMO with enough strength and length to guard SGs and maybe the occasional SF (though he'll definitely be undersized there). Can also handle the ball and shoot just enough to be interesting there. Dosunmu is a more natural creator with the ball in his hands IMO while also being very competitive defensively, though he's probably more comfortable guarding SGs than PGs.

Herb isn't the most natural fit with Giannis, but I like him nonetheless. SEC Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, he's just a beast on the defensive end of the floor. Can guard pretty much anybody and do it well. Offensively, his shot has mostly been atrocious, though he did shoot 35% from 3 this season and (like every draft prospect ever), his shot has reportedly looked improved in draft workouts. Having said that, he's a good ball-handler and passer, a good cutter/lob threat, and a handful to stop in transition.

Outside of those guys, I think Quentin Grimes and Kessler Edwards feel very Bucksy and there seems to be some Bucks buzz around Vrenz Bleijenbergh, though I would not be a fan of drafting him anywhere, much less at #31.

It sounds like Utah is hoping to attach their pick to one of their vets to duck the luxury tax.

Feeling ok but not great about where we are. Excluding the 21 green room invites (the 20 guys who accepted plus Garuba), my next 5 guys are all guards, which is exactly what I'd hope (overall rank in parentheses):

1. (8) Springer - defensively versatile all-around guard
2. (9) Cooper - offensive maestro
3. (12) Butler - heady game-ready combo with long term potential on the ball
4. (13) McBride - hard nosed POA defender with a developing pull up game and underrated bounce
5. (20) Ayo - slasher with legit burst, functional passing, potentially devastating simplicity to his dribble move combos

Then some funky swing-big types with Queta in the middle:

6. (21) Petrusev - 3 level scoring big
7. (26) JRE - smart, versatile defender
8. (28) Queta - paint dominator with surprising passing chops
9. (29) Murphy - long, bouncy shooter
10. (30) Thor - poor man's Jonathan Isaac

I would love to get to 21 under the assumption that it would basically assure me of getting one of those top 4 guys.

We'll use this thread as the draft thread tonight and I'll sticky it. Spoilers are ok. If you are watching on TV avoid this thread until after the pick is announced.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Springer is still my pick at 31. To play devil's advocate, he may last until 31 because he lacks athleticism, and is a combo guard due to his height and not being a true PG. But a lot to like- two way player with a lot of grit, likes contact, young + productive, and knocks down the three.

If not Springer, I'd like Tre Mann, Ayo, or Grimes... and sleeper development pick, Isaiah Todd.

Sixers just bought pick 53 for 2 Mil. If Bucks are not sold on Merrill/Diakite (I know they have different partial guarantees) they should do the same. Swapping out a 1.6M salary for 900k should cover 2-3M cost of a pick - and probably could get whatever team to take then waive Merrill/Diakite (i.e. paying non-taxpaying team to waive them) if allowed in CBA

Im waiving Merrill in that scenario. Guy just isnt physically gifted enough for the nba. Diakite could be something useful.

Tre Mann's combination of quickness, flexibility, and fluidity is very special. He would be a great PnR guy with Giannis with that floater. Assuming hes terrible defensively or he would go higher. I love watching him on offense though.
