Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - A Plethora of Moves
I'm not one who believes we need this big infusion at pg. But if KPJ doesn't work out for on or off court issues, at the deadline we could be a landing spot for Garland, who Cleveland may concede because of their 2nd apron issues and the clunky backcourt fit.
Our ammo would be a rehabbed Kuz, being in a minority of teams who can take back more salary, while being a win now, & then our highly valued '31 & '32 picks, cuz we project to suck then but are willing to make the sacrifice.

Yeah I don't know what happened there. He got way too much money. I guess they were hoping he's more than a sixth-man, but I think that's his ideal role. And he was great at that, but he's not a 35M player lol.

I’d be interested in Barrett.
Young guy who has gotten more efficient as his career has progressed and probably just needs to find the right fit.

You would think Dame was the only father in the league based on how he acted.

Agree, but we do need to add something useful in the Kuzma deal, and that player becomes our tradable salary next offseason if we try to pull off a 3- 1st trade.
Yeahhhh but if that's not possible, get him off the team for an expiring and his minutes can get absorbed by Taurean Prince and the hopefully much improved and filled out Tyler Smith.

Toronto is the person who buys every property they land on in Monopoly.
No rhyme or reason to their roster. Just handing out money

Yea with the Barret talk I thought of Quickley too. My quick check seems to think Kuz plus one young guy contract isn't enough to make it work but I'm not expert. Plus, Tor glut seems to be on the wing rather than PG. And of course we'd be giving them yet another player on the 3/4 spectrum in Kuzma to increase the glut. So it probably doesn't work without a 3rd team.
and yea, Quickley hasn't earned that level of pay yet. But keep in mind its not that much more than we're giving Kuzma for the next two years. And he's still prime age rather than on the wrong side of 30 like so many others. If Bucks are this all in and somehow this came available I would do it and hope Quickley lives up to it. Even if he stays at the level he has been and doesn't get hurt that contract won't be terrible or untradeable. He's a solid starter when healthy. But, Barret for Kuz I'd gladly do too depending on the draft capital

Is Boston still trying to shed salary?
Is the Micic buyout necessary for the Turner space?
If the true space isn’t needed and Boston is still cost cutting, could we reroute Micic to Boston for Houser?
CHA: Pat & 2nds
BOS: Micic (buyout for space)
MKE: Hauser
Gives us the larger 3 that we may need.
Could expand it to Simons for Kuzma as well
KPJ/Simons
GTJ/AJG/AJJ
Hauser/Prince/Harris
Giannis/Portis/Smith
Turner/Sims

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - A Plethora of Moves
If they are making any real moves its probably to bring in a SF. So that leaves us likely using a vet min on a back up PG. Technically I think they have like $3.5 left of the room exception so they could go a bit above the min.
I think you bring Rollins back but likely still need another guy.
A quick list of guys who might be gettable near the min:
Cole Anthony
Dante Exum
CP3
Patty Mills
Spencer Dinwiddie
Anthony or Exum would both be homeruns.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - A Plethora of Moves
I'm convinced we're going to see a lot of Point Giannis, and therefore I'm not concerned about adding a playmaker at PG. Being able to defend a PG should be the priority and a Marcus Smart type would make sense. KPJ's playmaking makes a lot more sense in non-Giannis lineups. I just can't stomach another year of watching Doc assigning Prince to guard opposing PGs. Dames departure certainly helps, but please add some defense and quickness to the backcourt. Grimes would be the dream scenario here, but Horst has shown the capacity for pulling rabbits out of the hat.

Indy basically gave up one of the cornerstones of a Finals team literally a week later over paying a guy an extra $3 to $5 million a year.
Yeah this is baffling to me. Hate to see Haliburton get hurt but not gonna lie I hate Indy primarily b/c of his attitude and unearned swag. So when I heard we got Turner I was thrilled. Just unreal they were literally one play away from a an NBA title and now 2 of their top 3 best players are out for a full year / traded to a rival. just absolutely brutal if you are an Indy fan.
I'd argue that being one of the best 10-15 players in the world earns you swag.
When he did the Dame Time move that was lack of respect period.

That's a general simplification. If you look at Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv) of the CBA, the reality is a bit more complex. There are three different numbers that get calculated, and then which one applies is dependent on how they compare to each other.
The three numbers:
1) Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(A): two hundred percent (200%) of the aggregated pre-trade Salaries of the Traded Player(s), plus $250,000.
2) Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(B): one hundred percent (100%) of the aggregated pre-trade Salaries of the Traded Player(s), plus an amount equal to $7.5 million multiplied by a fraction, the numerator of which is the Salary Cap for the then-current Salary Cap Year and the denominator of which is the Salary Cap for the 2023-24 Salary Cap Year.
3) Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(z): one hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the aggregated pre-trade Salaries of the Traded Player(s), plus $250,000.
Then, you determine Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y) as the lesser of Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(A) and Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(B). From there, you determine Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv) as the greater of Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y) and Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(z).
In a trade that sends out just Kuzma (from an outgoing salary perspective), the relevant number actually ends up being Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(B), based on his $22,410,605.00 cap number (per Spotrac), resulting in an Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv) number of $30,937,615.54.
In a trade that sends out Kuzma and Micic (is this possible?), the relevant number again ends up being Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv)(y)(B), based on their $22,410,605.00 and $8,109,150.00 cap numbers (per Spotrac), resulting in an Article VII Section 6(j)(1)(iv) number of $39,046,765.54.

I would also be fine taking a flyer on Cole Anthony.
I’d much rather pursue young guys that have talent and just haven’t been in great situations (Barrett, Anthony) than sign someone like CP3.
If you hit on someone like Barrett or Anthony living up to their potential, you suddenly have a pretty damn good team for the rest of Gianni’s’ tenure.

Yep miami is farther away from portland than milwaukee is.Im sure dsmes kids wnd up with him in miami but yet couldnt atsy with him gere.Thats such a lame ass excuse
I've only ever "broken news" on this website three times, as I just happen to know someone in the know, and I understand all of you Bucks junkies appreciate an occasional fix.
1) before it was officially reported that Jabari tore his acl
2) before it was announced that the Bucks were tweaking their starting 5 last year in the playoffs
3) that Doc would be back "no matter what" (playoff sweep or not)
Not exactly earth shattering stuff, but what could be considered "inside info" nonetheless.
The same person who told me all of those "nuggets" told me Dame's wife would have moved the family to Miami had he been traded there. I know many of you blindly hate the man for "reasons" but if you can't see the difference between living in the same city as your young children and living across the country, I guess you just aren't parents yet. But to continue to bash the guy for this stale ass "gotcha" is incredibly lame.
She was willing to move the kids to miami a farther move mileage wise than 2 milwaukee.Whats your point cross country had nothing to do with it.Thry could of been together here

I don't even love Quickley like a bunch of posters here did 1-2 years ago, but he'd actually be a perfect example of a dude that could look so much better here playing with a guy like Giannis and turn himself back into a valuable player/asset. And you could probably get him just by flipping Kuzma and maybe some minor asset if they're really desperate to shed that contract.

But I do agree with you he WAS a top 10 player. Now after that injury will he be the same player, who knows. I wish him well but damn happy we landed Turner.

Kuzma back to the Wizards or to a third team for Marcus Smart.
