Yeah, but he grew up in Madison.

Maryland fans deserve absolutely zero criticism for what they did after the game. It wasn't even a court storming. They waited until after all the hand-shaking was done and the Wisconsin players were off the court. And they gradually came onto the court to celebrate with the team. There's nothing wrong, lame, or embarrassing with doing that.

Unless your ticket provides you court/floor access... fans shouldn't go on the floor.

There was nothing about what the Maryland fans did last night that wasn't embarrassing. I'm relatively impartial to MCBB because ultimately for me it's about March Madness, so I feel like I'm not really saying that as a bitter Badger fan. And most of them were definitely on the court before the handshaking even began.

The people who were on the court when the players were shaking hands weren't anywhere near the players, and they certainly didn't rush the court. Everything was done in an orderly fashion and nobody was disrespected. It may not be your thing to do what MD fans did last night, but the level of criticism is absurd - at best.

Personally, I thought it was fine.

It was a "controlled rush/storm" so to speak.

I don't mind rushing the court when you score a huge upset but it seems like it's happening much more frequently these days. I mean UW beating Duke in the pre-season doesn't qualify as a court storming win, IMO.

I agree that it was a bit ridiculous to do it under the circumstances but it was pretty benign. No big deal.

Can someone tell me which colleges were the toughest opponents of Wisconsin this year? Preferably the ones with a good center.

Shame we lost to Maryland because Gonzaga showed tonight how much of a fraud they are.

I agree that they are overrated (they should have lost to St. Marys also), but they do have all the ingredients for a good tourney run; Pangos (senior PG), Wiltjer (versitile), and a 7 footer (size).

They are they type of team that wouldn't surprise me if they made it to the Final Four, or lost in the round of 32. I guess that has been the book on Gonzaga for the last decade, but I just see the rest of the nation being pretty weak this year.

Tomorrow's game is huge. A loss and all of the sudden we're in danger of not even winning the conference title outright and even getting a share could be dicey.

Any news on the Diamond Stone front? That young man could really use a year or two under Bo (likely just a year - two only if he chooses).

Hope he comes to UW. Stone/Hayes/Dekker (or Happ - If Dekker goes pro). That would be sick - with Bronson at the point.

This is the worst bench Bo has had outside '05-'06 when we started the year at 10 scholarship players, and dropped down to 7 midseason. Not coincidentally I think we started this season with 10 scholarship players. It's a bad strategy to bank scholarships so much and have multiple redshirts. And I really don't want to hear any apologies or rationalizations as to why it doesn't matter anymore. That '05-'06 team had some serious potential too. Started the conference season like 5-0 and was murdering teams like MSU by 20-30 points. I'm not saying this team is going to fall apart to that degree, or necessarily any degree. But it's just not worth the risk, and saying otherwise is spinmeistering.

At least our starters didn't let the downturn in momentum hurt them this time. Kaminsky is en fuego again. He's got that spin move working in the post and he's not hesitating on pick and pops. We should be employing the Barkley offense right now.

Kaminsky is off the chain right now, the bench should be on a short chain.

Not in love with final possessions that are so defensive-oriented like that. Run it down to the very end and shoot a jumper so the other team can't leak out in transition potentially and get a final look. But your ppp has to be about .4 instead of 1.2 or whatever. Hell, it's about 1.8 if Frank shoots. Stick with what's working.

Overall, pretty happy with the outcome of that half. It's mostly because of Frank, but we're rebounding really well too, gang on d, and Dekker and co. winning individual battles on O.

Give up 22 points in a half? I'll take that every time.
