That show was an instant classic. Just incredible. I can't wait to see the next season.

I know this is a TV and Movies thread but do you guys do any podcasts? I work at a computer for long long hours at a time so i'm constantly searching for new stuff to listen to. I would take any and all recommendations for new pods! Some of my current go to's are:

(i get these all on Spotify)

Reply All - hard to define, most common theme is basically, "Here's how people are exploiting technology and other people for personal gain" and at times it's pretty mind blowing. Many of them are 30 minutes, but the longer ones seem to be the best ones as they really dive in. There's even one on FoxCon and that's a must listen.

The Daily - 30 minute segment from the New York Times on something obscure and interesting or something current and important. Always seems to be something at least mildly interesting.

WTF with Marc Maron - pretty popular one, a comedian who interviews a ton of musicians/artists/celebrities and overall an entertaining experience.

You made it weird with Pete Holmes - same concept as WTF, but also delves a lot into the spiritual. Pete's just a good dude. Oh, he did an episode with Aaron Rodgers a few years ago and it's REALLY good. Basically a 1.5 to 2 hour sit down where they are just bullshitting and you get to hear Aaron outside of the usual athlete speak thing. I'm not really a packers fan but i still really enjoyed that one.

It's really well put together. Looking forward to finishing it off. Saw they were doing another season. You know if they'll use the same actors?

Eps 4 and 5 were so damn great. The intro to 4 kills me just thinking about it. What scene are you talking about?

I liked Hill House but I didn't think it was all that scary. It served better as a family drama. Still very good.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The Ramy Youssef special on HBO was pretty funny.

Then he gets it in his head that laserdisk is gonna be the Next Big Thing and he subscribed to one of those old school CD clubs but for laserdisk and he ended up with like 30 movies. They looked great! but holy god that was super not a tech that took off. I didn't know of another person with it.

So in the end it ended up being how I learned what whacking off was with the sex scene in The Terminator. :rocking:

I was in the same club. Still have the player and 50 movies. Sound and picture were vastly superior to anything else available at the time. I regret nothing.

Right there with yah. I had the Panasonic mini disc with mini controller on the headphone cable. I took it everywhere I went kept 2 or 3 mini discs in pockets. Amazing sound quality, digital just doesn't seem as good.

It's not. The files are compressed a TON in order to save space. Essentially what that does is remove information from the file, hence, remove sound(s) from the music. It's why an album will always sound fuller and richer than an iPod. WAV file is better than MP3 but still not as good as old skool.

You know what movie freaked me out? Creep starring Mark Duplass.

Schitts Creek is really funny. Can't believe I hadn't watched it before last week.

I listen to a lot of basketball ones which have been mentioned numerous times throughout the forums. Happy to list if you want. A few non-basketball ones I enjoy are:

Bingemode: They went through all the GOT episodes and Harry Potter books. Interesting and very funny

Invest like the best: An investment/finance podcast, but with some really fascinating interviews. Start with the first interview with Boyd Varty. If you like that, keep going.

Revisionist History and Broken Record: Two interesting podcast series by Malcolm Gladwell. The latter is in relation to music and has Rick Rubin involved.

The Drive by Peter Attia MD: Can be pretty heavy on the science/medicine at times, but some really fascinating interviews with people like Jocko Willink, Corey McCarthy, Robert Lustig, Appollo Ohno and many others. Will teach you a lot about health and wellbeing in a evidence based way (that makes it sound boring, but it is really fascinating).

Another two I like are from the Ringer: The Rewatchables (goes through classic movies) and the Watch (talks about the current media/TV/movie landscape).

I don't think there are many other better shows on tv than it. It's brilliant.

This show also flew under the radar for me too. Over the weekend I watched the first two, loved it. Eugene Levy and Chris Elliot, so good.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Podcasts:

I'll second the recommendation for Reply All. It's taken the mantel from Radiolab as the must listen pop-science/human interest podcast.

Other favorites: Waypoint Radio (video games and media), Pop Culture Happy Hour, The Anthropocene Reviewed (John Greene), and 538 Politics.

Respectfully, the Laser Spine Specialists skit from ITYSL should have swept every Emmy, but Mike also did good work.
