I hope Bud and Giannis have a strategy how to handle this, they did not adapt well versus Toronto last year. One thing is for sure, there are some teams in the East that are serious defensive squads when they want to be. Either way, to circle back. We need Middleton to show up. There is no way around it. Unless someone like Donte starts shooting 40+% for 3 and gets scalding hot in the playoffs ie: Fred Van Vleet last year. But you can't depend on role players to suddenly find God mode.

Erm, where have you been all season? The wrinkles are all over the place. This isn't the same offense we had last year. Not even close.

Middleton has become flat nasty. Needs discussion.

That is all.

Khris is having a better season this season than any season that 7-time all-star Joe Johnson had.

I didn't realise he's doing that 90/50/40 thing this year.

Damn!

Possible. The fact he's putting up these numbers and efficiency without affecting Giannis usage and production is what mesmerizes me.

What player short of the HOF guys in thus league would we rather have in his role and I can't think of a soul

Compare his numbers (per 36 and 100) to Tatum, Siakam, and Butler and then when you consider how nonball dominant he is....he's having a special season.

shoot. id like to see a comparison of the top seasons in nba history for championship level #2s all based off per36 or 100poss type numbers. I think this season is HOF level. the per minute/ per possession/ rapm numbers are all insane

Also like that some of that mid range that's been added has been off the dribble or ball screen type stuff as opposed to high post ups that have like no movement or offensive flow. Seems like he's been money on the ball screen pull up at roughly the FT line, almost like a floater

That preseason dunk on Butler a few years ago was better. I’m ok with him not going to hard at the rim. See Kristaps, 2018

He has been amazing this year; a perfect fit for our team.

I look at it this way: his salary this year is 30.6m and he has been worth that.

Next year he will make 33m and will probably be worth that.
    still learning the game

This is the only year Johnson made an All-NBA team (3rd Team). He also even got some MVP votes. Incidentally, it is the age 28 season for both.

I think giannis's inhuman play has put a shadow over how incredible kris regular season has been.

    It's certainly arguable. Consider though:

    1. The season isn't over
    2. There's a reason you picked Joe Johnson (he was an All-Star in the East, it's like comparing someone to Lowry)
    3. Joe Johnson has a historic advantage in clutch performance over Khris who actively hides or just misses
    4. Johnson once averaged 25 a game at 41 MPG, comparisons between eras get a little wonky
    5. Khris plays with the best player in the NBA and gets to pick his spots

    Context matters, as always.

Yeah thanks for that one fluke shot we all remember in a game we lost in a series we lost.

There was an Athletic article bouncing around here some time back about how bad he was in the clutch. I wonder why that never got any traction with the local media. Anyways, my well established beef with him is not his missing shots. Everyone misses shots. Khris in the past has elected to maybe take one or two looks in the last 5:00 of any close game. Like just another one of the boys taking his turn. It remains to be seen whether this new confident red hot Khris will be any different. I'm skeptical, but hey maybe it was all Brogdon's fault.

So this doesn't cover him throwing the ball away against Toronto in the 2017 elimination game or at the Nuggets up 3 away from his own basket. It doesn't cover him pump faking and not getting a shot off last year against the Suns, or whatever that was this year against the Jazz where he didn't get the shot off.
